Do you teach your children about God...

Yes jotomy--Faith should be instilled very young.In these days of rationalising every thing , corrupting influence of films and friends, it si better to teach children about God and also teach them a proper sense of values right from young.

Our daughter is eight and she attends religious education classes once a week. I am not particularly religious although I do believe in God and I talk to my child about spirituality and faith. My husband and I are Catholic although we are not practicing. The way we see it, we are instilling in our daughter the knowledge but she will be completely free to choose whatever spiritual path she chooses.

From the time that my children were born, I've always been teaching them about God. I have shared with them my views of God and I've also shared the stories of the bible with them. However, there is one thing that I won't do with them. The thing that I won't do to my children is to force them into a religion in which they aren't able to truly believe. This means that I'm not forcing them into my religion, but I will explore with them to find the religious place where they feel at home.

I started to learn about God since I was still a small child and I learned them first from my parents. I am grateful to my parents for it and I can say that now that I am already grown up I learned a lot about God and I am still learning a lot each day and I can say that God has always been there for me since birth.

No, because we are not religious. (Most people here in the UK are not very religious.) Kids here get taught Religious Education at school, wshere they learn about the world's religions and that is enough in my opinion.

I teach my son that there is a God but I do not teach him in particular religion...just on a spiritual level. I was raised Catholic and that religion never made sense to me with the rites and rituals. I don't want to force something on my son. I believe him knowing there is a God is enough to carry him through until he can form his own beliefs at a later age. That's what I did, even though I had a religious upbringing...I did not stick with what I was taught as a child and resent it being forced on me.

Yup, I do teach my son about God and his qualities, The good and bad and the acceptable and the not. I think its vital to train up a child in a mannerism of goodness and values. What they learn or imitate during childhood is what they would grow up to be, if not at least try to be.

i teach them too . it is better to get them know what the god is, what god wants and why He want it. the reason is more important because they will know why something had to be done. but i teach them when they were 3 years old.

I do,i introduce God to my kids as early as i can. The moment they asks about things and everything they observed,i always make a point that,i explained it to them in a way that,they can understand easily. When they asks why the sun is hot,and who made all the things on earth. Just giving easy example for their young minds. So,when they grew up,they will always remember God in their lives. I want my kids to have faith in God and not only depend on their capabilities. I want them to do things according to God's law. It is always good to teach kids about God as soon as they can understand what is life. Have a good day always

i'm not married and don't have any kids of my own yet...but when i do, i do intend to teach them whatever that i am able to. if they prefer some in-depth study, then i may get a religious teacher to help out
