My first name was whispered, and no one in the classroom called my name!

I was in elementary class one day. And we are were taking a test, I believe. And the classroom was dead quiet. It was very quiet in the classroom. All of a suddenly, my name was whispered very loudly. I could not identify if it was a male or a females voice. Once I heard my name, I turned and look around the entire classroom. Everyone was hard down taking doing their work. They were writing... I looked at my classmates and my teacher both. Everyone was silent and concentrating on what they were doing. No one looked at me, when I looked around the entire class. Everyone's head was looking down at their papers. After I turned around in my seat after hearing my name called, I became very scared. It was no one in the classroom that did this. It was something else. It was very scary.
Until this day, I can never understand what was this that called my name. Was it a person that was a spirit? It just did not make any sense. I was not imagining it either. I heard my name, just as clear as day!
I will always wonder what or who was it that called my name in class. I know that it was not a classmate playing a silly little prank. This was for real!

hi cream Were you particularly worried about this test? It might have been your guardian angel looking out for you and she softly called
your name then said no more maybe as she did not want to frighten
you , just let you know she would help you. I am guessing of course.
I do believe we each have a guardian angel who does sort of look after
us.There is so much we really do not know and people make fun of me
but even Shakespeare said, there are more things on heaven and earth
than are dreamed of in your philosophy, Horatio. I do believe this too.

Well, are you really sure it wasnt a prank? Well, it's more commom than you think, something like this happened to me lots of times, it's scary indeed. I totally believe in spirits (I dont like the term "ghost", it's so stupid). A aunt of mine is medium, she has lots of stories that would really scary everybody here, but she thinks it's natural.

thanks .. for bringing in your aunt. .. and, for your belief in the para normal.
And, I don't mind to read the term as ghost.. also. Because, .. after sometime, the meaning of words keep changing.. just like the following example.
some years back, when you heard of a mouse, .. it used to be a reference to RATS.
now, .. it is a computer aid! and, when I READ about an APPLE, I thought it to be the juicy fleshy fruit. BUT, alas, it is now some modern gadget.

That was freaky. It could be real that your name was whispered by something that cannot be seen. But it could also be just a prank.
I'd just share my experience when I was still in college. We were in the middle of having our final exams when suddenly, some of my classmates were making some noise. They were acting a bit confused about something. Then my teacher also joined them, looking each other in the eye at some point. Then, I noticed they were a bit scared while looking at the back of our room where some of my classmates were seated. I ignored them, thinking that it was nothing. After the exam, some of them told me that they were scared because almost half of the class was hearing a girl crying while we were having our test! We really get scared every time we go to that room.

Maybe it was your guardian angel calling your name. I remember trying to escape the World Trade Center on 9/11 my guardian angel spoke to me when I thought for a minute that I may not make it out alive. However, she told me and even called my name and said you have to get out of the building. She repeated this at least three times. I still can't believe my guardian angel spoke to me but it was clear as day just like your story.

This happens to me all the time and you get used to it. If you keep listening for it and it happens enough to you you'll be able to discern what they're trying to say to you and whether it's one of your spirit guides or just another spirit. Good luck with everything, there's no need to be scared!

I do think it was a figment of your imagination cream97. YOu w ere after all in your elementary class and I guess you would have heard some ghost stories somewhere at that point of time.This may have played on your subconscious and you were sure that it was not your imagination at that time.But now, the impact and feeling is till very strong that you believe it was a voice. I still feel it could be your imagination. Were you by nature a very timid person and what sort of friends did you have?

well, while I SUPPORT all para normal -- and, believe in ghosts, angels, etc.. .. from what you have told, .. this is my comment:
I wish that you read this in the good spirit, and do not react as if I am calling you bad-names! . .. It is because, you were in your elementary class, .. and all your classmates seem to be engrossed in their test! .. and, may be, just may be....
you fell asleep. (It happens when writing tests, and particularly when you are such a small kid, that sleep is so easy to be-fall .. when the surroundings are so silent) . .. and just then, your teacher might have observed you.. and, so as not to startle all others and you too... the teacher might have just whispered your name. What better way to alert you out of your slumber, than by calling your first name?
---------that is what I would say, risking my ever fluctuating rating!

@ cream97 ... if you are very sure that you are not asleep, then it is sure ... a spirit .. it need not be a ghost, as the movies are presenting ... but, it could be a wonderfully sweet, and helpful angel. ... since it was at a very early stage of your life, FRIEND.. did you ever again feel the presence of an external support, in the further years of your life? ... It could be your friendly teaching angels.
You should feel proud of your capability to comprehend the feelers put out for you by the angels and spirits. It is good.

Do you believe that there is a micro organism called PLASMODIUM VIVAX .. which is the disease causing pathogen ... found in human blood, to result in MALARIA fever? ... but, can you see that with your own eyes, and in the most normal and conscious condition? .. Actually, I am a medical doctor, and I have not seen it .. in the way you asked. .. it requires a special technique, and a bit of knowledge about the micro organisms. .. may be, you need special eye-equipment, and, may be you need special isolators.
similarly, for SEEING these para normal, you need special interest, and an inner eye! ----------------- hope I did give out some sort of clarification.

Hi, consultrainer. Since you believe in ghosts, then I am sure you believe me when I tell you that my name was called. It was not a prank by one of my classmates either. I was not asleep. I was wide awake. The teacher did not call my name. She was sitting at her desk writing on her paperwork. She was not looking at me. Nor was anyone else. I was not sleepy. I was wide awake and alert. I was doing my test and that is when I heard my name whispered. I will never forget what I have heard.

Well, ghost you haven't not seen with your own eye and now you asked me if I knew what caused malaria. I know that too can not bee seen through bare eye nor be touched.
But any micro organism can be seen through particular equipments. What about SPIRIT and GHOSTS? Can they too be seen like that? So far my knowledge goes there is no such device.
What you have said special interest can not solve problem at least for me nor I believe nor I think interest gives birth to existence to something that is non existence.
But I do not mean to hurt your faith and belief and personal interest.

Perhaps it was a paranormal incident where someone who was no longer on this plane was trying to get your attention and this was the best time they had found to do so. Like a grandmother who had always told you to concentrate on your lessons and was coming from the other side to tell you to take this seriously and to concentrate.

Could it be that it's your mind. Sometimes I hear music in the background playing and the more I concentrate I hear it louder and when my focus is gone it is also gone. Or could be something of a supernatural source. I also believe in them although I really havent that much experience with them. That could really be so scary to hear someone whisper your name and when you turn to look who did it you can find it. I would also be so scared and will keep on thinking until I have a good explanation for it.

that was kinda creepy.you know i have just remembered i also have the same experience.
back when i was in the hospital i was taking care of my mother there and when we are about to sleep,i got shocked when i heard someone like whispering.but not my name,it's like someone is breathing and saying short word i hardly understand.i got shocked cause no one is making sound that time,really silent and all is sleeping.really scared but i just think of things like there's someone from the other room which breaths deeply that's why thought it was creepy.just normal thing.i guess i'm just paranoid that time.

I am not sure whether your classmate try to scare you and pretend there is no one call your name. But in an old legend, the are one kind of ghost that will call your name from behind, if you answer it, they will follow you back. But this normally happen in the jungle or rural area where there have big tree. Haha...that is scary..but in this modern world, is there anyone believe it?

Ewh! That was kind of scary. It does happen to me a lot too. Sometimes it happened when my mum is next to me, then I would quickly ask her if she did whisper something, but she always says no, she didn't. So I thought it was probably a sound that was brought by the softly blowing wind, you know :-) but then, I tend to expand my weird and scary imagination afterwards, even eager to figure out what it was haha

Hmm.. Seems scary, but sometimes we hear our own names being called in our head. It happens to me too, and it's not anybody playing a prank or anything. We just imagine that somebody called out our name and when we look around we find nobody. It's out head playing tricks on us and I personally pay no heed to such sounds. Unless of course someone is calling me for real.

How can you actually KNOW that someone did not play a prank on you? Even if you asked everyone (which it doesn't sound like you did), someone could still be lying. But, I suppose that if you want to believe it was a spirit or something then I guess no one can tell you otherwise.

Hi, rocketji1. Is was not a classmate whispering my name. It was an grown person's voice. I could tell the difference between these two voices. And if, it was a prank, surely someone would have chuckled or looked my way when they did this. Or maybe someone would have eventually spoken to me about the prank that they have pulled. No one talked to me about what happened. Why? Because they did not know. They did not hear my name being whispered. Only I could hear it. It was for my ears only to hear it..
