hi to all, i have been making some research on this DISASTER, I THINK IT IS MUCH MORE GREATER THAN THE REST OF THE WORLD THINKS IT IS, this oil spill is, to me out of containment, many are not giving the needed info on exactly what is happening out there in the mexican gulf, there is an exceedably high amount of toxic gasses released from under the sea bed,and all the other polluting chemicals that have been used to neutralize the crude oil , i think this is a world wide issue, that must be handeled immeddiately, otherwise many are going to cry ,and cry hard, greetings bignik

That is the impression that I have. Information is only being released when the next 'worst scenario' has been exceeded. Initially I recall it being said that this was a minor explosion and would be easily contained. Right!

I never heard this accident described as a minor explosion that would be easily contained and I live in Florida. You might not be getting a lot of information where you are but we get updates here on a regular basis. BP has been terrible at stopping the leak but the clean up efforts are making some progress and that should increase as soon as "A Whale" is put into operation.

I'm in south Florida and, while you may not be getting very much information where you are, there is a lot of information available about the situation day to day. Right now the oil is still in the part of the Gulf that is not part of the loop current so it's not going to travel out of the Gulf right now. There are over 500 ships out there right now cleaning up as much oil as they can.
