My friend ann came over today & had lunch w/me. When she started to leave she had a flat. I took her to wal-mart to get a 'fix-a- flat. I had never used that but she said she had & they worked well. She didn't even make it to the next town when it went flat again. I was very worried about her & called but she didn't answer so that made me more worried. It wasn't but a few minutes till she called me & was home. A trooper stopped & changed her tire for her. Wasn't that nice?? Did u know troopers did that. Do they in your state?

not that I know of, maybe the highway patrol might call in some help, but actually fix it....

probably depends on the trooper and who the person needing help is - actually, probably depends more on the trooper....

Im not sure about Az here, but when i was traveling around country there was a few times we got help from the hiway patrols in different states. I know here we called the fire department once to rescue a cat from our roof we couldnt get down. They said we should call the police department. we did that and the nice policeman that came out said he wasnt supposed to pick it up from the roof but he would get it down as he had a cat himself and could see it was hungry and hot from being up there a while. said dont tell anyone? so, he got it down and we gave it water and food. and he called the humane society. come to find out, it belonged to a neighbor that came for it, that hadnt even been looking for the poor thing

I am not sure. I have had flats but never seen the police and had to fend for myself. One night we were having a snow storm and the police called me because my husband was broke down up,back when he drove semi, on the interstate about 20 miles from our house and they gave me a list of tools that he wanted me to go to the garage and get for him. I called one of our mechanics and he did it for me and that made me happy cause i had no clue to the tools that he wanted and really didn't want to drive in the snow storm. After it was all over I found out that was what he wanted me to do was call one of the mechanics. the police officer got mixed up. I just thought it was great they made the call. I do know that if you are broke down they will stop and assist.

I am not sure if they will anymore. They used to help out. Sometimes something that looks like an emergency is actually a trap and that makes them leary.

I live in Tennessee and fortunately I have not had to test that theory, lol. I've not had a flat out on the road since living here. Knock on wood! In Mississippi some years back I did and was never offered any help from them even when I was big as a barrel pregnant. That was nice of them to do that for your friend.

It is good to know that your friend has reached home safe and sound. We don't have I never dare to venture out in distant places alone for fear that my tyres go flat. I have never replaced a flat tyre before.

Hi ANTIQUELADY! I am so happy to hear that your friend was able to get help and get home safely! I can't say for sure if a State Trooper here in NYS would help change a flat or not since I don't drive! But, I'm guessing that they wouldn't! They might make a call to a towing service, but change the flat themselves, not in NY! And I'm pretty sure I'm right because I remember my girlfriend having a flat a few times and once on one of the State Bridges and all she got was a tow that she had to pay alot of money for! Be grateful you don't live in NYS (for alot of reasons)!

Good morning Opal, thanks for responding. I am proud i live in Tennessee. I didn't know the troopers did nice things like that for people but so thankful they did it for ann. She sure didn't need to be on the side of the road in the awful heat we are having. He was a blessing indeed. Have a great day.

Wow, that's amazing. well cops here in the Philippines are so uptight that they even call pedestrians to do their tires, but not all, there are still good cops out there that are really helpful to citizens.
