Up to what point in a friendship and love relationship could you say "it's enough" and that you need a space and air to breath.

It's time to call it enough when you feel a sense of relief when you have a day or days away from that person. Some people tend to smother others and if that's happening, get away. It's too easy to lose your own sense of self.

When you are being suffocated by your friendship and love relationship. When you feel that when you are together you cannot breath properly and is very stressed. The mere fact that you don't want to see them anymore is what would feel awful for the both of you. Why prolong that agony--step away and live your lives away from each other.
