Kenneth Feinberg announced Friday that he would not try to recoup $1.6 billion in compensation (bonsus) given to top executives at bailed-out banks because he thought shaming them was punishment enough. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_pay_czar;_ylt=AmAjDM4hSZD9IgzsWwnNyFys0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTNjcHIzOTYzBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMTAwNzIzL3VzX3BheV9jemFyBGNjb2RlA21vc3Rwb3B1bGFyBGNwb3MDMwRwb3MDMTEEcHQDaG9tZV9jb2tlBHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcnkEc2xrA3BheWN6YXJ3aWxsbg-- How crazy is that....we bail them out (which saved their jobs), they use that tax payer money to pay themselves bonsuses ( for trashingn our economy) and the government decides "publicly shaming them" is enough. Personally I want the money back AND them publicly humilated....how about you? Was he right to let them keep the money?

certainly not. you don't get bonuses for doing your job so abysmally badly you nearly wreck an economy, and if you got one you pay it back.

Well the feds have decided they can keep it. Multi millions of our tax dollars from the bail outs. they get to keep it. That is just wrong. People have lost their jobs because of their actions..yet they get to keep OUR tax dollars they did not earn and caused this mess. I really just don't know what these idiots in washington are thinking most of the time....and they wonder why the average american citizen is ticked off at them. It is because of stuff like this.

washington needs to grow a spine and actually stand up to this lot. or are they worried about where their next bribes are coming from?

Ya...I am sure they got kick backs for it...so that is why it got done. congress robs from the tax payers and give it to the corporations...corporations give some of it back to congress as a campaign contribution of course). It is enough to make you sick. Lobbyists should be outlawed.

What kills me, Lil, is that all of this should have been addressed before the banks were bailed out. I don't know who handled the paperwork but it seems to me that it was written by someone with no business sense whatsoever. The banks should have had to agree in writing to many specifics before the funds were dispersed...things like actually making loans and not paying bonuses that year. As for my opinion about this....whatta bonehead! I want the bonus money returned AND public shaming by electronic billboards.

Who wrote the bill? That would be our wonderful congress. Specifically pelosi and reid. But a lot of others had their hands in it too. They failed completely to safeguard the money and the topic of bonuses was brought up while they writing the bill and they failed to stop the money from being misused. They knew it when they did it too.

First ----The Government should never have given anyone bailout money in the first place. Second the government knew that part of that money was going to go for bonuses. The Company or Bank in this case should have to pay the money back, not the executives that got the money. The President and this administration should be the ones that are humiliated. and the ones that should be held accountable. for giving them the money in the first place. Why are you so mad at the executives for doing what they always do (Get all the money) And if you go back some time...It is the governments fault for making the banks give loans to people that should never been loaned the money in the first place. so it is not all the banks fault that we are in this mess, It was our governments fault. for trashing this economy... and the way this administration is spending i will not be surprised if it collapses all together
