What decoration can you not wait to get out each year?

Whatever holiday it is, what decoration do you love to take out from it's box and put in it's place. Why do you like doing this? Was it a heirloom, or is it just a beautiful item? How big is it, and do you put it somewhere different each year? Is it pristine like the day you bought or received it, or has it gone through the years, slowly getting scratches here and there? Is it ruined completely and you just don't wanna throw it out? Let me know what YOUR favorite decoration is!

There is a Christmas store in the next county over with trees and knick knacks, they have houses we could buy, but they're all so expensive. MIL has a town that she leaves up all year, she just changes the bulbs out, or she has in the past. We have one white church with a little bit of glitter on it that is beautiful, it has a light with it, the base at the bottom is cut out from the rest of the church so it's easy to just pick up the church to replace the bulb. Well it's actually in the shed as we got it as one of the many things we got for our own house in the future. Sorry for babbling, I was just saying that's what hubby and I have personally. Hmm, I think it'd go real good as the center piece for a Christmas town.

Hm, maybe the Christmas ornament that my mom made. Other than that, it's the music boxes that come out at Christmas.

One thing I couldn't wait to get out was the box of Christmas tapes. They are in a small reebok box, or atleast they were. That and the books and the candles for the windows, this was just at my grandmother's house. at mom's house I think it was Mr. And Mrs. Santa Claus!

One particular Christmas decoration that holds a special place in my heart is the Nativity set we've had in my family ever since I was born. It's a simple manger consisting of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus an Angel and a few barn animals, and some of the paint has chipped from it's age yet it's very precious to me. When I moved out of state I took it with me and I will continue to use it every Christmas and hold on to the wonderful memories of past Christmases I had with my family.

I think I would pick our halloween decors. We have a few tombstones that we stake in the front yard in mid October. I guess I like it because I don't have to take good care of it after the season unlike our Christmas stuff. These creepy decors I just stick in box and put in a shelf in the garage. The dustier it gets, the better it looks year after year.

I was going to say that, the more dingy it looks, the more authentic it looks. Seems like a straight forward type of decoration. You actually made me think of something a little off topic. I was watching a youtube video of a guy that took pvc pipe and taped Christmas lights to it, then put some sort of clamp / bracket on his house, and now each year he just takes the Christmas light decorated PVC pipe and snap it to the house, pretty simple.

Hi SCG!! Good thing you have those decorations with you. We had most of those back when I was young. Now that we got older we don't have any decoration for any kind of occasion. I'll take note of that and maybe I would be able to buy some decorations for christmas. ^^
