Is really price = quality?

Some people still stick with this concept of good quality = price. So, the more you pay, the better quality it is. For me, it just not so real. A friend of mine, just bought a $100 pair of high heel shoes, she wore it about 3 weeks, the color just came off, and the strap just about to break. She also bought it from the brand name store in the mall. Although she go back to store to file a complaint, the staff couldn't doa anything to help her. So, is quality really = price?

In some cases yes, in some cases no. It depends on the item and the market really. A lot of the times you just pay for a designer name for instance, and then this thesis is not correct. But if you pay for something that was custom-made, and hand made and stuff, then yes, it could be true. But what people really need to learn is to check every item, to try to figure out what the quality is like.

I think people generally don't pay price because of the quality, they pay for the brand they purchase. The brand name has become the main driving force to keep the prices high. A same kind of shirt bought form a shopping mall and a street nearby will have the same quality but it's the place and the brand that you buy, determines the price.

Still, people are going to pay for it. That is one of the dumbest thing I ever heard. Especially those youngsters, they would follow the main stream, and bought whatever his friends bought.

Not all the time. Nowadays branded items cost more than the usual or generic ones. We are paying for the name most of the item. But there are quality items that cost more than usual. for electronics, I'd say price=quality.

For me it depends on what you're buying. Things such as clothing and makeup are definitely things that I would say price=quality. But things like furniture and appliances aren't .

i will not agree to this quality really is equal to price. because price is being controlled and maintained by he seller taking into consideration various components. the investment made by him , the products he is distributing or selling , the margin that is the profit he is expecting , the losses he can bear , the nature of item whether perishable or not and abiove all the tast of the consumer and the requirement of the final user. always u will find nearly 40 to 50 % margin to the seller in all the products and naturally he will inflate the actual price by certain percentage and then he will reduce some percentage in the name of discount and then he fixes the price . on the other hand quality is a seperate issue. quality is being maintained by the product manufacturing companies strategies , again the consumer needs of that particular product , profi or margin expected by the manufacturer etc. often you may find that branded products costs more . this does not mean that branded products are of good quality . today's branded top products may turn to useless one just because of not only poor quality but also various market competitors . growing market is having various level competetors and that is why i do not agree that full quality is not equal to high price

Sometimes yes. Somrtimes no. I've discovered that there is difference between named toilet paper and unbranded TP. My butt feels better with the branded one. My clothes come out better with branded detergent. For clothes and shoes though it seems like not such a big deal.

I think quality always comes at a price. But that does not mean that quality = price. I have seen a lot of over priced product with no or minimal quality. On the other hand I have seen high quality low priced products as well. So I agree with you that though Quality does come at a price, it is not always Quality = Price. Cheers! Ram

Sometimes the more better the quality then the more expensive also the price. But good quality = price depend in may reasons, it could be because of the product brand, the popularity, or the complex manufacturing.

It's because alot of these high end places have strict return policies. Second. Some times it's better to shop around for the best price. She probably could have found the similar pair of shoes at TJMax ro marshals for much less than 100.00. Somtimes paying name brand for something doesnt mean your getting high quality. sometimes you need to define what quality is to you. Can you return it if something happens. Do they give good cusomter feed back. How happy are people with the product. I've had some things that I've paid under 10 dollars for and they last longer than the 100 dollar piece of clothing. I have a hard time finding clothes to fit because I'm big and short and sometimes you got to go to regular retail stores instead of high end stores at the mall. Alot of places in the malls say you can't work there unless you can wear there clothes. Many if you can't wear a 14in jeans or smaller you might not get looked at for the job. It's not fair that they limit themselves. America is getting bigger and they need to face that fact. High end just some times is not worth the hassel of lower end products when you get better quality out of them.

I would have to agree that yes for majority of the cases. What your friend went through could be an exception. building quality takes time, the high price paid in exchange for quality don't happen overnight. the main reason why there are products that are the same but are more expensive than others is because the expensive product spent more on research and development to enhance the product. The money spent on R&D are just being shouldered by the consumer. Once a product has develop a kind branding, you will need to spend more to make sure that it stays that way.

I really don't think price is quality. You can buy some great working things for so cheap and a lot of expensive items are really just ripoffs. I've experienced them both firsthand.

Maybe and most of good quality stuff will has higher price. However, high price is not necessary indicate that good quality. In marketing strategy, there are many tricks to get best seller. With good look, elegant packing and good promotion, some good may look expensive. They set it highly price. This will convince buyers. This stuff will be have great sell. However, if the rel quality is not compare to it's price, this will be a boomerang for the producer. No one will buy the goods any more.

At times a higher price does mean better quality, but of course not always. I had never really been one for name brand clothes, I just bought what I liked if the price was right. My boys were a different matter, they wanted the name brand sweat clothes and athletic shoes that cost a lot more. I hated bickering with them over how much I was willing to spend for clothes, but I found out one thing, the high priced name brand sports clothes that I bought lasted. They did not get holes in the knees like the ones I bought at the flea markets. So I gulped and paid the price since it seemed like in the long run they were cheaper, I did not have to replace them every two weeks.

Price definitely doesn't indicate quality. Some times price or brand is a sort of snob value. It reflects very poorly on the brand if within a week it loses color. The brand will hardly get goodwill as word of mouth spreads in such cases. To protect goodwill the company ought to replace such defective goods.

not all the time.. sometimes, the price is high because your actually just paying for the signature and not the quality... i dont buy a lot of pricey things... i check the details first of what i buy... i love to shop but i dont want to waste money for things i could have bought for a cheaper price

Yes, it is right that price=quality because when we get good quality goods than we have to pay good amount that's what the nature of business deals and have high sale.Every customer will be satisfy with the products that they bought and the money that they spent to buy for it.
