I had to close down my account in FB yesterdat. I hate it when people comment and other people thinks it's true. Well for you have to idea why: I lost my mobile phone a day ago and I posted my new contact number in FB and I've stated that the old number was lost together with the phone. Then some crazy person commented and said that I shouldn't have drank so that I've not lost the phone for some lady. My GF read the comment and reacted. I didn't want to argue so I didn't comment back but closed down the account instead. ARgh! Goodbye FB.~!

All you had to do was remove that person from your friends, and explain what really happened to your girlfriend. Besides, who is she likely to trust? You or that person from facebook. All this happens in the first place, because you are misusing facebook, it was originally meant to get your old school or college mates together or atleast your friends. And since accepting every single friend request you get is the new trend, this is the result of it. I am a regular facebook user and I can say with no doubt that you can have so much fun with friends in facebook with its fun applications, just don't misuse it. :D

I wasn't earning from the site anyway so I don't need that freakin social site anyway. lol, Oh I earned from cloudcrowd some cents but that was not enough to keep me in the site anyway, well, just enjoy your stay there but for me, I'm out of there for good.

as far as I know you can delete any comment that is posted on your wall. one thing,..it is not a good idea to post your personal number on social networking sites, as these are the hubs of scammers..You could have invited a lot by posting very personal info such as phone numbers.

I dont easily fall for scams in mobiles so I was not afraid of some scam fools that wants to prey on me. Thsy will just waste their time trying to send some scam sms

It is not the first time I’ve heard of people having relationship problems due to a comment on Facebook! I am a member there but I rarely log on. You could have kept the account, changed to private settings and the person involved could have been deleted as a friend but if you feel you no longer need the account it may be the best thing!

Well, keeping the setting into private may not simply solve those things in the future... I've opened another one for business purposes only so I could use it effectively rather than for personal updates.

Hi basqui, I do have a fb account. I'm not an active user there. Few days back I logged in my account just for watching the latest photos of my relatives putting up there. Whenever my relatives or friends have their latest pictured uploaded they will inform me to have a look and add comment. most of the time I don't write anything after watching the photos. Occasionally I would hang around there randomly if I feel bored to get myself refreshed lol...Anyway it's okay as well to have one more site to pass the monotonous time once in a while. So I would like to keep it active still. Happy posting

Why get so serious with it?? And i just dun understand this kind of situation, whereby our bf/gf, will choose to believe somebody else's words, rather than us!! haha =D It's good that u din argue with her over it, because it wont bring a close to the matter at all, once the suspicion is there.. Now that u closed the account, your GF might be even more suspicious, as she may think u have more to hide and thus u SHUT it DOWN!! haha

well it's up to her to have those suspicions but I'm tired of doing FB, I don't even earn from it, lol. So it would be better for me to spend more times on business sites I've invested in rather than personal socializing...

Well, that's a mess. I don't know why some people can't mind their own buisness. I have a full time job taking care of my own & i think most people wouild if they'd stay out of other's buisness.

Yeah, really sucks. The poster may have made it as joke or so but it was late for me to delete the comment. I was pissed from the incident so had to close it down for good, or bad???

I am sorry this happened to you. I have a FB account, and I don't have that many friends on my list, mostly family, if someone request a friendship I check out their profile and if I don't know them I don't accept. I don't post that much on FB, mostly a scripture or maybe a commment to some of the family, they are mostly younger adults anyway and I don't participate in their conversations. Back to your point, it is ashame that some people don't have any respect for other people feelings, saying things like that make them feel like a big, wise and knowledgeable person in their eyes, when in reality they are just dumb and foolish. Just shake the dust off and keep on going. Don't let someone like that ruin your day. "This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it." Have a blessed day.

Yeah, blessed day to you too. I don't know anymore about my friends activities in FB since I opted to not receive any emails from FB anymore. So whatever happens there then it's their business now. I know some of my families and friends there would miss me but well I prefer to have my social life private now and earn on other sites online like mylot.

You could have just deleted the comment and made your FB private. No one can even see my page unless I approve them first.

It is not my first unpleasant experience on FB. There were others before so I think the glass is already full and have to throw the content now so that I won't get drowned in that glass, lol. Does that mean something? haha

I too have a facebook account. I had someone make a rude comment on one of my posts. I just blocked him. He now can't have anything to do with me. I like facebook. I keep in touch with family and friends there. For earning money I come here or I go on sidetick.

Good for you then, Well for me, I have to stay out. Maybe I'll open a different account there which will be strictly for business like for cloudcrowd and other earning apps. Or I could use it to create fan pages for my sites... Well, happy FB-ing there.

Delete the comment and block the person, anyway why your girlfriend reacted that way? does she heard your side? it's the best move to close down your fb account if you really don't want to receive any comment and to stop the argument, I've seen so many people use fb account to say nasty thing to other even it's not true some of them tag the person there is no more privacy in facebook, i suggest we choose who we will in our facebook account.

I didn't argue with her anymore. It's up to her if she'll believe someone than me. She called last night on my new number and thanks that she's no longer angry. But that account has to go anyway so I will not reactivate it in anytime.

well.., this isn't the first time i've heard a story about relationship issues brought about by facebook..good thing that the only thing you've lost is your facebook account...in some cases.., they even lost their girlfriends because of the same issues as you did..your partner thought you did something behind their back and discovered it in Fb...tsk tsk tsk..

Well, she's suspicious but her knowing that I'm silent about it, she knows I'm not guilty. She will just be surprised if she will no longer see my page there. lol. Either way we are still together... And happy on the new mobile phone.lol

I have noticed that there are alot of people that comment aswell as there are alot of people that will try to stir up trouble by putting the odd nasty comments.Alot of people have split up,due to facebook and the things that people type on there.I also know that there are alot of my friends that do not go on there anymore,as they are fed up of people trying to stir things up.

My friends and I do a lot of teasing bantering back and forth of facebook and for the most part I would say that there is no one that takes it seriously. Instead of shutting down your entire account, I think I would have removed the person that made the comment that was out of line from your friends list and then I would have explained to my girlfriend that what was said wasn't meant to hurt anyone in any way, it was just a joke that was taken out of proportion.

i think you shouldn't add your phone number on facebook, because it's very private. so people will not bother you
