Have you ever coloured your hair a total different colour to what it was?

Years ago i had my hair bleeched, reason for the big change was a friend was training to be a hair dresser. Now that i am 39 and do not go out,i am going grey and hearing that alot of my friends have gone blonde from brown i am thinking perhaps i will do it aswell.I know it is a drastic change, but noone hardly will see me,also i am going grey,so perhaps they have done the bleech so that they can not notice the grey as much.

I colored my hair to mahogany when I was in college. Coloring hair had become popular during those times. Even some dared to color their hair violet and blue. It was temporarily enjoyable, however,on some instances some color for hair endangers your scalp and hair strands. As a result, split ends and dry hair happened. So I avoid doing it now, until i found a coloring hair without ammonia. Coloring hair, brings out a big change. like you look like someone else, the you have been change for a better, but you get sick of the color after a while or after a month.

I do not like guys having that kind of hair color. They look dirty. Like you see them , their faces are Filipino and their hair is blonde. I can't get the connection

oh,you have colored your hair?i wonder how you look like.i never liked coloring hair, really.but i have done it only in black, still!haha yeah,it can give life to our hair specially when it is not the natural color,,but it could also cause split ends like you said,it will only last one month. i remember those guys who used to color their hair with yellow.i find them irritating though cause they look like chickens to me,

Hello Jugsjugs. Yes my natural colour is blonde but I dyed my hair about a year ago, it's very dark brown now. I did it to see what it would look like, my husband said I'd look good with dark hair and he was right, it really suits me. Another reason was that I was getting tired of all the blonde jokes at work

I feel like i want a change.I know that i am now 39 years old,but i do not want to feel that age or at the moment feel really old.My son asked me today why have i got brown hair and they have brown hair, yet my daughters both have blonde hair. They had seen photos of when i had my hair bleeched, red, black and brown like it is now.So i am now thinking of getting someone to bleech it for me.

I'm in my mid forties and I decided it was time for a change. I only did it as a kind of experiment but it turned out well and I got used to it. Go for it, a change does you good

I was always blonde growing up and then about five years ago I decided to henna it and haven’t looked back. These days I dye it a fiery red. I think it suits me better now and it’s fun.

I think that i may go and get my hair bleeched,it is not like there will be many people that will see me as i do not go out,but it will be better with bleeched hair as at the moment i have brown with a tinge of grey. The de i use is a brown dye and it seems like it only lasts for a few weeks and the grey is back yet again.

No, I typically try to stay with my natural hair color..I guess I am one of those rare people who really loves the color of their hair..It's brown and in the summer I get red highlights through out. I have accidentally gone too dark once and I hated it, so if I do something more, I would go lighter, like maybe a lighter shade of brown or red. Now my daughter who has the same hair color, she has done some really huge changes in her teen years..The first time she dyed it completely black, which looked good..Then during a crazed faze, she had me bleach half her hair and then dyed it red while dying the other half black..Yeah, it was pretty crazy, and there were times I'd pet her head because it reminded me of a pet guinea pig we had one time.. Now for the last year and a half, she had had her hair pink..Yep, that isn't a typo, she dyes her hair pink..and what is funny is whenever we are out, like in a store, doesn't matter how big it is, I saw that pink hair and know without a doubt it's her..

Both of my daughters have nice blonde hair and all they keep doing is getting it high lightened.I have had my hair all different colours in the past, but i usually dye my hair brown or a chestnut brown colour, but the colour do not seem to last long before the grey colour comes through again.

I am 39 years old now,i feel alot older,so i feel like it is time to make myself feel younger inside, lol,as its not going to happen on the outside.I think that the colours i have had over the years have probably made me go grey alot younger.I am not yet sure what todo.

Yes. Last year when I was on vacation I went to the salon with my daughter and granddaughter....I always thought my hair was more brown then blonde but when she dyed it brown my hair certainly didn't look natural!

I have dark brown hair normally and when i dye it i tend to keep it a dark colour, like chestnut brown.I am 39 and my hair is getting greyer and it seems like the colour do not stay in long. When i was younger i had a friend that bleeched my hair as they were training to be a hair dresser.I see that there are alot of people my age bleech their hair and now i think it is because of the grey turning up.

Hiya jugs, I don´t dye my Hair any more as such. Henna in a paste is what I use for the temples and forehead about every two or three months up to now I don´t have to it any more than that. It strengthens my Hair. I know it is very messy if you use it the first time around but then you get used to using it after a while. You don´t actually have to follow all the instructions to a T. But you can use your own variations mix two colour also if you want. That is all I do to my Hair at the moment.

Why don't you just dye it your natural color? My mom does that and no one can even tell she's going grey. But dying a different color is always fun and different. There's nothing wrong with wanting to cover up the grey.

In the last couple of years, I have gotten a lot of grey. I now dye my hair. It is naturally dark blonde, and I just went a few shades lighter. It does seem to help the grey. You can't tell if it is grey or just a light blonde.

I say go for it. But do remember that you'll have to do it at least every 4 weeks from now on. I went from a brunette to a blonde and now Im a redhead. Im now debating weather I should go back to blonde or stay as I am. Its all a spur of the moment thing usually. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hello Misscadillac, You wouldnt believe the things Ive done with my hair over the years!! Ive gone from red to blonde with .....well not exactly, I went through all the shades or oranges in the process. My hair was such a mess that I went back to red. Ive noticed that whenever my hair is brittle or damage, I use "Manic Panic" on my hair and then all is well. Not sure why, but it works for me. I do my hair myself and its no easy job because my hair is down to my waist!! Thanks for the tip about Henna, I'll look into it.

If you DO decide you want to go brunette I would recommend a Henna based hair color, because it will not damage your hair the way a normal hair color would. Keep your hair healthy girl, because healthy hair is beautiful no matter what color it is!

I am a blonde, and I have tried dying my hair both brown and red. Both colors looked quite horrible on me, so I never went back to either color after having tried it once.

I see people of the same age as me with lots of different coloured hair and they are forever doing different colours, but there are people that also bleech it aswell.I think that if i get it bleeched then the grey will not show up as bad when it starts to come through.

Coloured!!!..i have natural black hair...i like it...i wouldn't go for any colouring fearing it wont suit me. I like the black color of hair..though wished to have some other color right from birth.. On second thought may be i'll try out some day...but sounds freaky...do not know right now what will i do...for the time being i'll stick to black.

Oh yes, I have dyed my hair a lot of times. I haven't done it for 13 years, and when I did do it, it was always because I was bored. I dyed it black, red, and had it streaked blonde. My original color is mostly a light brown, with dark streaks of blonde.

Just highlights. Not really the entire head of hair. I colored it brown I think but it wasn't very obvious so it was good as nothing.

right now,my hair color is dark brown.I love my brown hair.I prefer brown hair because for me it looks sexy.I am not really a fan of blonde.I also like red hair, but it doesn't suit my Asian features.I would dye my hair again later to a shade of chocolate brown.

I've personally never changed the color of my hair from one color to a totally different color. I have put blond highlights in my hair where I've never had any blond in my hair at all, but I've never been the person that has changed the color of my hair so much that I didn't remember what the natural color of my hair was anymore. I've had friends, however, that have colored their hair on such a regular basis that when they start to get their natural color back they are shocked.

Hi jugsjugs!. I had natural black hair recently I am so bored and decide to coloring my hair. So I buy a hair dye at supermarket after few hour I got reddish brown hair. Even at first I am a little shy at this hair but I already get use to it because few of my friend said its makes me more glowing . So you can say I dare to coloring my hair but never cross the line by coloring it green, yellow or pink.

oh yeah. I've been coloring my hair for as long as I can remember. I mean I started in third grade, but still, that's very early. I remember in 7th grade I made a 'big change'. It was just around that time when blonde locks were popular and almost every girl in my class has had some shade of blonde in their dark hair, so I wanted it too, so I went to my friends mom to color my hair and she did it, but when I dryed my hair I kind of didn't like it since I though she did a bit too borad coloring, so it was not really much visible if I had my whole hair colored or just a few locks, so I grabbed a can of peroxide and went to make a bleaching mix and colored my whole hair blonde. but as you know if you don't bleach your hair at the right heat and light your blonde will most likely get a shade of 'yellow' instead of white blonde, so that's what happened to me and I then had to go to school with top of my head being yellowish blonde and bottom being about the right shade of white blonde. I still remember being so embarassed and not wanting to go to school that day. However when I came home I redyed it dark brown and was happy it was gone and since then have decided to hold a grudge against bleaching my hair ever again to this day lol however other than that I didn't do any other big change as now for the past few years I'm always coloring my hair on darker shades which are similar to my natural color, so the difference isn't very big. also bleaching really makes your hair dry and it gives you split ends, so it's not very healthy to use it often.
