Hi Friends, Some of us may save money more. I mean they'll save without spending much for their enjoyment too. Is it really needed. we're earning to enjoy the life only. Without spending what we will do with money. I dont tell spend money always. But saving more is not needed. Some people will say they are saving for future. But missing the present and expecting more about future is useless in my view. what is your opinion?

You, me, and everyone needs to save money. It comes in handy when you need things. That way you don't need to borrow money. Borrowing money is problematic, as people don't always have it to lend you. The key to it (as with everything) is not to be anal. Moderation in all things.

My opinion is different Ramya. We have energy to work hard when we are young.YOu w would have heard of the story about the 'ant and the cricket'. What is enjoying life?--now this will vary from person to person. In these days of growing avenues to spend [in the name of fun and entertainment]money will get frittered in no time. Saving as much as possible wihtout giving rise to the temptation of ' enjoying life' in a lavish way is absolutely essential .Imagine a situaton when the person earnign very well has trouble in office, suffers from ill health , has unforeseen problems at home;is it possible to ask for loans from everyone else? It is better to be safe than sorry. To quote an example--my father was an affluent man, had a roaring law practice and had had his daughters married off in style. Suddenly his career came to a standstill after that because he was afflicted by paralysis one fine day quite suddenly. He struggled with it for the next 19 years of life. He conducted his life without asking a dime from anyone. Could it have been possible if he had enjoyed life to the maximum?Could it have been possible if he had taken a trip round the world with the surplus he had at that point of time? THere is nothing wrong with saving for the future. We all live on hope that we have a future and if we wish and plan to ensure greater finacial stability for ourselves and our children there is nothing wrong.

True Kiran! Lucklily my father was an affluent man and my mother is a very supportive lady. Whatever affluence you have by means of immovable property , it still would not be the same as earning a regular income where one need not worry about regular cash flow. [I had never known what it is to live within a budget or what it is to struggle for money]. And that too he was at the peak of his practice. You would have read my tribute to him in AC. Apart from loss of career , imagine a life where he lost his speech that had earned him such fame through his life! I feel terrible for him but he was a very brave soul who just took life as it came and never complained even in acute pain. I marvel at his strength of character. He had lost his only son just three years ago and all that must have taken a toll on him.

That is really sad kala what you wrote about your father...Ill health is something that really makes a person humble, no matter what you have in life...I too feel that we have to plan our finances in such a manner that all aspects are taken into consideration including make provision for the future...

as soon as you start working in the work force you should start saving for your retirement.

Yes. Really. Till we're in job, we might not know the future and expenses. To manage the expenses after retirement without earnings, have to save for safe life.

Agree. The first opportunity that comes your way, save for the future. In your golden days where you cannot work anymore or you do not have to work, you can live thru your "passive income". This means that you will just be "living on your interest" from your savings. Make sure though that the interest your savings make or your passive income should always be more than the inflation rate so that you can always maximize the value of your money. I am not saying though that you should scrimp now. Spend just right without depriving yourself of the good life but do not forget the future.

Well, I think most people know what they are saving for, and if that goal is something you really want, I think people should save. Of course, if you already have everything you need in life, you might not need this, but most of us are not that fortunate, so then we should try to save I think. Being irresponsible with your money is also not good, but going overboard with savings will not be very balanced either, so everyone has to find what works for them!

Yes. We've to analyse what should we do and how much we should save. Saving more money without any goal is useless. At the same time spending without saving anything also bad for future.

I really enjoy spending my money especially in clothes, shoes, makeups and etc. That's why I can't give you any advice because I also need help in saving money. My parents usually tells me it is better to save money because you will never know what will happen the next day you wake up and stuck in a emergency situation and no one will lend you money. Even relatives and friends wont trust when it comes to paying your debts. I always keep on thinking that I hope someday I will learn to budget my money and save for future purpose.

It is necessary to save for the future, there is no doubt about it. We are entrusted to become stewards the wealth of the Divine Providence. It is not ours, and as a steward it is our duty to make ourselves and whatever we have grow. With saving money, it is advisable to start early to become financially free when we get to our retirement age. Listen to the people whom you say saves money, if they only talk about saving for the rainy days then these people are afraid of their future. One note, why save for the rainy days when you can save for the sunny days? There is a school of thought with regards to life which is also applicable to savings. If you think it, it will come true. Now, if you think only about rainy days then all you're going to get are rainy days which is full of grief, illness, and sadness. However, if you think of the sunny days, then you would be able to enjoy life more to the fullest. Save and have money with a merry heart, and give with a merry heart.

I find it hard to save in this economy, because everything costs more so it takes more money to be able to buy the things we need. It isn't fair, but that is just the way it is. I am saving here and there, but I haven't been able to save as much as I would like, as i end up using it for bills and sometimes I will take a little of it and invest in a site to earn more. It is a vicious cycle trying to make ends meet at times., but I seem to be doing better than I have in the past, and that is good too. i haven't always been able to have enough money to do anything with, but now things are a little better for me, and so things are looking up. I hope to be able to save in the near furture. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Obviously. Saving is good habit. And if we have some dream, plan to buy anything and saving for it, then fine. But saving fully and not enjoying life is not needed.

Saving money is a must, but as to your question saving MORE money, that depends on the income...If you have a huge Salary in a Month then you can save more..it all depends of the needs and wants of the Person..Save at least 10% of your gross income for emergency used...But in my case my income is not enough,so how can i save! Thanks!

Yeah. I accept. If we have extra money after our expense, then we can save very well. If we struggle to fulfill our expense and even try to save money is unwanted.

Am I addicted to saving money? Well, yes I am. It all began when I was younger, like 9-years-old. Since I always wanted to get toys I seen on the TV commercials. I guess it was time parents thought me how to use my own money. My mom once said she wanted to show me how to save money. What she told me was actually basic however. She said, do not spend the money as soon as you get it and don't be impatient. Just save up enough money, and you will be able to bring anything you want. When I buy my things, I don't generally spend my money on what's expensive since I want to have additional money left over to spend on my family and best friends, to get what they need. What's mine is theirs. One of my sister had a baby, so it is good to assist her out with clothes and food. Saving money is a great way to help other people in need. That's why I am addicted to it.

Yes Praful. If we save money and buy something later, it'll be more worthy. I agree. I experienced the same too. I'll dream a lot about that thing and will buy with my savings. Getting addicted to saving money might be interest and good sometimes. I agree.

I think that saving money is a good idea but not to save all of your money, I prefer to save only about 20% of my check, that a pretty reasonable amount to save up for the future, since I do like going out and having fun.

Savings is definitely important, but not at the cost of sacrificing todays fun and entertainment... After all what do we earn for... Do enjoy the present and save around 10% of your earnings for unforseen circumstances...

Yes Amit. we should plan to save small part our salary consecutively without fail. So that we'll get huge amount later for any emergency.

Saving is really important of course and as well as enjoying too. My opinion is, you have to be moderate in spending. What I do is, when I got my salary I always make it a point to put like 30% of what I got in the bank. So every 15 days I just withdraw the 70% percent and leave the 30% in my account. The 70% is for me to enjoy for 2 weeks, that's 8000 pesos and also enough to sustain our needs. Yes, you have to give yourself the enjoyment you need at the present or else you'll end up missing a lot of fun on the future. But like I said, everything should be moderate.

Yes. I know the importance of insurance and all. But apart from that, saving without spending anything is bad. I saw many persons who dont spend anything and saves money without any purpose. Even they dont know for what they saving. we should enjoy our life some what atleast. Money is for spending. Not just to keep.

I only save my money if I have a plan for it. Like if there's something big I'm hoping to buy. Many people save money incase something happens in the future, an emergency that they will need money for. I do save a little bit of money for that too.

Yes. you're correct. Without any ambition, saving money is useless. we've to spend to enjoy too. :)
