Some time i might have a good idea of a discussion but dont want to post it yet because i want to post it at the right time so that i get as much post as possible. When do you think is the right time?

I am in US and I know there are so many from all over the world on here, I have not noticed a pattern as to when it is a great time to post a new discussion. See here is what I surmised from the site. When ever you post a new discussion it is of up most importance to reply to all members who responded, this makes good practice if you want them to continue to post whenever they see your new discussions as they will always remember the quality postings. I get people who post even after a 3 week old discussion, main reason everyone develops a great many myLot friend and it is difficult to keep up with all friends discussions and their own discussions but when they come across a brief that it is from you they will respond as Mykl_J above has so kindly told us over and over again, you type, I type we earn. I type you type we earn. Not in those words verbatim but he has so eloquently correct. So in answer to your question best time is not really the key, the key is quality discussions and not repeated discussions as that goes on here minute after minute and well when someone like me who is on here on and off daily notices so many repeats, this gal knows that the post is going to be deleted so I may respond and I may not depending if the person is new and I want to help in someway. Take me for instance I have been a member for only two months and if you see my number I do respond and post quite a bit on here and I dear am not the only one that does so. So keep posting and responding, this will build your myLot relationships and well this will certainly build your responses as well. Good luck to you - Keep myLotting.

Well first of all thanks for that great advice. So lets say ou posted on a discussion. Someone else's discussion and you notice their response to your comment is somewhat irrelevant like they only respond with some smiles(those animation thingy). What would you do then?

To tell the truth i have never rated someone comment as negative even if it is. Just thought i just cant be so cruel. But i hate it when they only post those animation.

I have seen that but only after two or three returned comments. I would hope someone doesn't just post the emoticons especially if it is irrelevant. I suppose you can say something like I appreciate your comment however I do not find it relevant. There is always the negative rating you could apply as well, which I understand myLotters use and have comment deleted. I can not see why someone would do that though, what would be the point. If I am asking for advice and or assistance of some kind. I remember a person literally posting something completely irrelevant and the member who initially posted the discussion responded with, I do not see your humor and had comment removed. Sometimes we play and put the emoticons but again it is not until after several responses back and forth.

Well, this is kind of hard to answer because so many people live in different time zones and you can never be sure what time it is everywhere. But doesn't really matter when it is posted if it goes to your friends inbox's in their mail. But I would say it gets more responses in the evening where I live. In my time zone.

Yes, I find it best to write one in the evening. It is the best time for me to get more responses. But most mine don't get a lot of responses anyhow..lol

Oh i see so the evening at your time zone is the best. So if you have an idea, an idea you know deserves a lot of responses, would you wait on evening time to actually post that discussion?

I always bring with me a notebook, so everytime I thought of a topic, wrote it so that I won't forget it.

So what if you split the periods into night and day. Would you prefer night or day and why?

Well there's people from everywhere across the world here. But if I were to pick a perfect time for you I would have to go with anytime in the evening - United States time. I have a reason though. Since mylot's posts/discussions etc are all in English there are probably a LOT of Americans. I just checked and the country with the most members is the United States.. closely followed by India. So in a way it doesn't really matter what time you post, you might get one or two more responses for sticking to American time but maybe not.. It also depends what your question is, if it has something to do with where you live or something like that. I would post your question in the evening according to the time where you live, since that's when most people aren't working so they'd be online.

Oh that fairly reasonable. I think that could work. I am wondering how US time works with Jamaican time. Do you have any idea about that?

Guess I am going to try the evening then. Or maybe right before the evening so people will see it as soon as evening comes.

i don't think there is a really perfect time to post it because people on here are from all over the world.

I agree with you there is no specific time when and what time you will post in here coz everyone in here is from all over the world and having different time zone.

But most people are from United States so maybe we can use that to distinguish the time.

If the topic is interesting, you will get answers no matter what time you post it. Then just keep the discussion going by answering to every response.. Every time you answer or your friends answer, your discussion becomes more visible so you can keep it going during a long time.

You know what i notice once, i made a discussion and it get good amount of responses. But then the responses manage to slow right down. And amazing my discussion made it to one of the top discussion and then a lot more responses keep on pouring in. I was so happy.

hi renhard I have seen it suggested you post right after p eople get home from work to get the most responses, but still since so many of us come from all over the globe, we also have differing time zones too. So I just post whenever I get the urge, morning, noon or nitht;. I seem to get the same amount of reponses either way; So relax and just post as you feel like doing it.by the way hope you remember its not the number of responses that earn you the most, as those are ours and we get paid for posting them to you. you however will get paid well by commenting on on all the responses your discussions get.YOU type you get paid but if we type we get paid.

I think on the weekends is a good time. I am on late everyday and I think I could get alot better posts than I do. I wonder how every gets them. Send to their emails or on the site itself? That could mean alot too. I think you should try different times and see how they go. Good luck!

I don’t believe it makes a great deal of difference what time you choose to post a discussion because we are all from different corners of the world. Regardless of the time your friends will respond in due course. I’m from Australia and when I’m here during our day time hours there are very few of my friends online at the same time. I post any way and I find that I get the responses in time.

I really don't think that there is necessarily a best time to post a discussion. For me, I try to start one discussion a day and I will typically post it somewhere around noon Eastern Standard Time. However, there have also been times that I have started discussions around midnight or any other time during the day and I find that they are all successful, you just get different people to respond to them depending on when you've started your discussions.

Thats a good question but like the first poster said. Its hard to tell because infact people post from all over the world, even though im guessing that most people post in the united states. Which is why I dont think morning time is the best time to post maybe afternoon night time when every one is home im guessing well at least in the us but would like to know this answer.

For me as long as im in the mood to write i post it right away before my mood change so that i could reply to those who participated in my discussions. I have a changeable mind so "timing" is not important for me.

SO you telling me you don't care much about timing but more about mood. you just have to be in the mood to respond. I also have to be in that mood also but i also believe there is a time best when a lot of people will respond to your discussion

Good topic is not enough, you need good set of friends as well. First and foremost, spend time making friends - likeminded, level headed ones like me you know? :) Then, avoid fridays, saturdays, sundays, and even mondays. People have weekend plans, and monday's invariably seem tedious. Last hint, if you are based in east, anytime between 15.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs IST is ideal. This helps you get the attention of people in west, as well as in east. Some people use office systems, so they would be using it before they close their work for the day. It helps to be around at that point of time. As to east, you would get the attention of people early in the morning. :) Net effect, both sides of the world would participate in your discussions. Happy mylotting. :)

I know about the first part. I will have some time calculating when. I am in Jamaica so tell me. Am i in the east or west. When is best time. I never know the world had a east side or a west side. Just thought it was sphere.

I think its best to do it at our free time, whenever it is. I like to post when I'm free and alone so that I can fully concentrating at it

Lets say you have the entire day and night free. Lets say you are on a vacation. What time then would be the best time to post discussion.
