If you are in the new york area (or are willing to travel to adopt) and are looking for a cat check out the following link! A beautiful mother cat with 4 babies is going to be euthanized unless she can be saved! So if you can take her please do! Maybe you can take her and just give her more time to find a new home! If I could I know I would take her in a second! http://www.facebook.com/pyewackete?v=wall&story_fbid=137536342955033&ref=notif¬if_t=share_reply#!/photo.php?pid=837601&id=1652613571

This kind of thing totally breaks my heart. I hope and pray that someone with a kind soul and heart will take this precious mommy and her babies and give them a home.

I read your post pye. I am not close to there nor am I a certified rescuer. I worked for years at a humane society in California but that was years ago. I hope someone saves this mother and her babies. Although it doesn't look like it will happen. I truly hate this. It saddens me so.

I work very closely and crosspost a lot Mark Ross's "urgents" from his wall at FB for pets on the euth list...he told me only certified rescuers can pull animals out that are on the euth list--there's a lot of corruption going on in the AC&C system--read my response here

I don't think that link will work unless people are on Facebook and are friends of Mark Ross the original poster. He volunteers at AC&C and photographs all the cats that are up for adoption and places them on his wall, but more important he posts the ones on the euth listing--the real "winner" is that euth listings aren't done until the night before...wonderful right? Also any pet on the euth listing can only be pulled out by certified rescuers, not just anyone, why I don't know (stupid rules)---I'll find a link, but I read up on the virtual corruption going on with the AC&C system--will find the link

Thank you for all the info pyewacket! It is so unfortunate and stupid thta only certified rescues can save animals from the euthanasia list, you'd think the shelter would want those animals to have the best chance at leaving the shelter! Is it that way just at that shelter, or is it like that everywhere?? It is really nice of your friend Mark to do that for the animals, to give them one last chance!!

I can't, I need to look for a home for my second cat. He's getting too expensive to keep. My husband is unemployed and I work a day here and a day there. But I hope someone can help.

hi lilyofthethorns I do hope someone who can rescue them comes in before its too late from that NY area. I am cleaR over on the West coast so'I cannot be of any help myself. even more I cannot afford one cat as it would raise my rent here another hundred dollars that I do not have. So all I can do is pray that someone with a big heart close by will come and get them, they are just beautiful surely someone cares.

Why kill those poor animal if you cannot find someone to adopt them? If you realy cannot take good care of them, it is better to drop them in a far forest or jungle than kill them. At least they can have an option for themselves. Killing them is not a solution.

jasmed, these are not her own kittens, but something someone shared on facebook. Someone else had put them in the shelter, not lily.

I would never kill an animal! These cats are in a shelter, on it's euthanasia list--and I'm just spreading the word! (I would never drop any animal in a jungle either!)

What is that? who will save the cat? Facebook is firewalled at the computer in the office. I believe I am of no help unless i rent a computer outside.
