Doesn't it make you mad when...

you spend a lot of time responding to a post and then when you go to submit your entry to mylot it says bad page and that the page you are responding to might have had its URL changed or it is no longer there. I just had this happen to me. I made a response and hit submit and the page disappeared. I have never had that happen before but I have had the response that that file is missing and had to wonder if my post went through. It usually does though so I don't worry as much any more when I get that message. I know that it isn't mylots fault and sometimes errors just happen on any site but I am human and I admit to getting mad from time to time :)

well, it can be pretty annoying but it doesn't make me mad at all. most specially if there are so many people that using this site, such can come out when too many tabs that you're opening. or if your browsing for so long, it can happen.

I absolutely hate it when that happens. I usually copy my response (even though I can't paste yet since I don't have 500 posts), but it's like whenever I copy, nothing happens. But the times I forget to copy, I get a bad page. Usually, my responses are quite long and it's very frustrating to see everything is lost. Especially if it's in a discussion of which I have a very strong opinion. I type this long response and everything is gone. Then when I want to retype it, I have forgotten some things that I wanted to say. The second time I try my answer is never as good as the first time... I get mad as well, not at mylot per se, just in general! It's really frustrating to have wasted your time and energy. Now before I press the post response button I'm going to copy this all first. :D

My hubby suggested that to me too after I complained to him that I should copy and paste it into the notes and then post in case the post disappears. This is a good idea.

Hi Linda, Yes it is very irritating! It doesn't happen often but it seems that when I have taken the most time with a response then that is when it will happen. Like you said, it usually does end up going through but not always. And also...not the fault of Mylot because it happens on all sites for whatever reason.

Hi lindaharding, This has happened to me on several occasions but I try to remain calm and just respond over again. I don't always succeed though as it can be frustrating especially when one has spend a long time considering the best way to respond of if the response is long. Sometimes I have to leave my computer and do something else for a few minutes. Blessings.

Yes, it does make me really mad. It is so frustrating because you put a lot of thought and feeling into your response and then it is all for nothing! I know that errors do just happen, but it is still frustrating. Oh well, nothing we can really do to change it. I guess instances like these are when patience is truly a virtue!

This happened to me too. But it gets fixed when I hit the back button. There's just a prompt that says resend or cancel. I wonder why this happens too

it could be annoying but it is not your fault. maybe the page was deleted by mylot admin or internet connection problems happened while you were in the process of transmitting the response or the message. things happen, you know.

This drives me crazy when i write does not post. When i have o begin again, some of the momentum for the discussion is lost. Getting it back is not always easy, but i give it my best try. I wanted to participate in a discussion so i'll do what i can to keep my post.

It happened to me once and made me so upset because even though I hit the back button it still did not show up. It was a lengthy response so I dreaded re-typing it. I have this happen to other myLot members and usually once. Could be too much traffic all at one time, who knows, let's just be grateful it doesn't happen too often.

It would really make me mad sometimes I would end up banging my mouse because of that. I cant calm down and utter some bad words. I would sometimes blame it to my internet provider.

That happened to me a few times before. I thought it was because of my internet provider. Because my internet connection fluctuates sometimes. Usually if that happens to me, if I still feel like it, I would retype as much as I can remember from the previous response. Sometimes I'm just so frustrated that I forego posting a response again. I can't wait to get to 500 so I can paste already. LOL!
