How do You Feel About Silly Discussion Topics?

When you're going down the list of topic discussions you may want to respond to, do you ever get irritated or annoyed at some of the topics people are looking to discuss? I must admit , when i see topics such as "what's your favorite color?" or "what did you have for breakfast this morning", etc, i get a little irritated and wonder if the person starting the discussion is really serious, or, is just looking to add to their discussions started total. I really can't believe a person "really" wants to know what i had for breakfast, or, what my favorite color is and besides i know many people, including myself, who never respond to discussions like these, so i'm lost as to why people start them in the first place.

You forgot "What email are you using?". They're just trying to add to their post count. A lot of those people don't reply to the topics or just post the same boring "Thanks for sharing" replies to every post. And yeah, they do irritate me too, especially since those are repeated topics that appear over and over again. "Red" and "oxygen and sunlight", by the way. Haven't had breakfast yet.

Yes, I do find them irritating. They're pointless questions. They don't go anywhere or lead to anything. Things like that are part of the reason I stopped using Mylot for a long time because I was spending more time looking for something worth responding to than responding.

Funny, i stopped using Mylot some time ago,for the very same reason.it was just loaded with pointless discussion topics. of course, it still is to some degree, but at least not haLf as bad as it used to be.I just don't understand why people bother to join discussion sites like Mylot, only to ask people to respond to the most trivial questions ever.

Yes, very irritated. A lot of them are poll type topics and will be deleted, but they push the good topics back several pages. I remember one day, as I was scanning the new discussions, there were about 3 pages of someone who started discussions on some kind of computer questions...complicated stuff that most people wouldn't have any idea about. I wish folks would take a few minutes and think of realistic subjects that could start a really good discussion.
