Were Your Parents Too Pushy When It Came To You Playing Sports?

I've heard the stories of parents who are very pushy of their kids when it comes to them excelling in sports. Such as the type of parent who gets in fist fights with another parent at their sports game. Even if they didn't do that do you still think your parents were obsessive enough to cause you to lose interest in sports. I never had parents like this.

My parents were never pushy parents. They never forced me into doing things that I didn't want to do. I think if a child is into sports, sign them up for it. It's a great way for them to get out of the house. We all know our parents probably told us at least once to get out and enjoy some fresh air when we were growing up! I remember growing up I did about 2 seasons of basketball, 1 season of tball, jazz, another dance class, and almost 2 season of bowling. I still have my ball and shoes for bowling! I had fun with the activites I did, but they never pushed me to the extreme or over the top.

No, my parent's are not pushy at all. I was the one who is pushy.lol. I love sports, imagine a hyperactive kid doing nothing at all. That will be too boring. And I am one hyperactive kid. So I always do sport even I am all by myself. By the age of 10 I was enrolled into Tennis, me and my brother, unfortunately, wasn't able to finish it. By college, I was into Taekwondo. Now, nothing, but I want to practice boxing. Too manly?

no its not too manly just as long as your not like that pro woman boxer who is serious about having a boxing match with a guy. it looks like shes on something, lol.

When I was younger I wasn't exactly the picture of health (I'm still not), so my father thought it would help me both physically and mentally to join a sport. He never really forced the decision upon me and I appreciated the ability to choose what to do. I never was really much of a sports person so him suggesting it could never really make me lose interest in sports.

No,when I was child , my parents asked me to do sports to keep fit without any utilitarian purpose. I really appreciated it. However parents pin their hope on their chilren maybe some kid really got excellent talents in certain sports.

I am legally blind and physically challenged, so they knew better than to push me into the impossible.
