Should I stop buying diapers?

My daughter was 3 on April 26 this year & is toilet trained completely during the day with only 1 or 2 accidents a month or less...On Friday night, she went to bed with no diaper on as she had taken it off without me or her dad knowing & didn't wet the bed at all...9 times out of 10 these days, she wakes up with a dry diaper so I re-use it until she wets it or it gets shabby...should I go out on a limb/hope & a prayer & stop buying her diapers?

I am sure that you will do what ever you think is best in the end, but is the cost of a bag of diapers, really worth more then maybe washing some sheets? What do you think?

You bring up a good point there CJ...I am still up in the air as to what I should do...I have been told some cheap things that my friends have used as matterss protectors but overall...because I'm not sure how often she may wet the bed, I'm not sure what would be more cost effective - a cheap pack of daipers or washing sheets a few times a week.

Did you not say, most nights she wakes up dry. A few times a week, is not quite most nights to me. You could always give away the extra diapers when you are sure.

HI, You can still standby at least small pack of diaper at home,in case you may need it for emergency and same time train your daughter to be diaperless at night. Since she herself take off her diaper, for sure she is ready to be diaperless. My son is 3.5 years old and he is diaperless during day time. Only night time, I still put on diaper for him. However, sometimes, his diaper is dry and I re-used again till it gets wet. I plan to train my son for diaperless at night,of sure, I need to wake him up to pee during midnight,or else, I worry he will pee on the bed. Hope your daughter will be diaperless soon and it really can save your money on diaper...you can use the money to buy other necessity. Good luck!!

My daughter is diaperless during the day...it's the night time that she wears them & now I am thinking I should just not worry about that either.

I would as I have found them good but I can't see how they justify the price...I mean $AU13 for 10 pull ups compared to $AU10 for 25 cheap daipers...I just don't want to spend that much for my daughter to wear them to bed...she has normal undies & training pants for day time.

The honest answer to this question is that it is a matter of personal opinion. With my daughter, we kept using diapers at night for about six months after she was completely potty trained during the day. Then, there came a night where I was out of pullups and I put her to bed without a diaper on. When she was dry the next morning, I knew that I wouldn't buy any more diapers for her, but I also knew that there would be some times that I would have to change her bed sheets.

Thanks for the info, I have decided to stop buying daipers...I think I am down to my last 2 which can last about 2 weeks lol...I have bought a waterproof matress protector which is on her bed & when the daipers are gone, she will go to bed with just undies.

hello moonchild1au i would stop using the dippers and i wouldn't reuse the dippers i would be to afraid that she would get an infection because if she wets a very little and you don't know and then put it back on her you don't wont stuff growing and you don't know about it and put it back on her.

This is true...I guess I am just worried that she may wet her bed in the middle of the night but she rarely does a wee of a night.
