Okay sounds a bit rough, let's change it. What are the things that you notice while maturing? Lol. Mmm, for me besides the fact that I have to keep up my diet (a few years back I could eat all the junk food I want and still stay slim now, if I eat junk food, in a week it's noticeable in the tummy) I also noticed that now, I care less on what people say. Mmm... I do now what I want and what makes me happy. I think life is too short and we ought to live how we want to live.

as we age,we became mature. and there's no one who live there lives backward.we all are facing another year of life and we tend to grow older and comes the matureness of a person. there goes the different signs of aging which comes physically, our bodies would turn differently as we age.and we can't escape the fact that we'll have wrinkles and aches and pains as we grow older.but what matters is we can be always young at heart.

wow, lolo, you are enjoying your age even with those aches and pains you are suffering! that's a good attitude! i hope i could be more enjoyable when i get older like you. i know it's hard to get old, cause people who you have now will not be with you anymore as we grow.and there are also moments that we can enjoy while young but we can't do when we get old enough.it's like more of sadness when we get older, but i'm happy you are enjoying what you have right now...

Okay, at 53 I notice a whole lot more outside of myself and my own world. I notice mom's with little ones who won't stop crying and I don't get irritated, I just smile and know that this too will pass. I notice people who are kind, people who are down trodden, I hear more laughter, see more fear, ( I work in the school sysytem) I see much more unhappiness and lonliness and anger. I appreciate a smile much more than ever before, appreciate my parents a gazillion more times than I did before. I also notice my skin and such not being able to defy gravity, I see my co-pays going up and I see more doctors. I see and feel a passion to strive to feel and look as best I can - the gym 5 days a week, very careful what I eat, still shop in the jr. dept (and I'm 6 ft. tall) maintain my facial health as best I can. But ya know what I really feel daily? the pain in my back, the pain in my knee.... and the joy of going to work and thoroughly enjoying what I do feeling quite blessed.

I tend to notice a recline in vitality and more weird aches and pains that I am not sure what the cause is. I have always ate as healthy a diet as possible with cold salad most lunchtime, with lots of raw vegetables including spinach and broccoli. At evening time I will eat a cooked dinner, but I have quit eating foods that contain sugar for about the last 20 years or so. In our family there is a history of heart problems and I have blood that clots very easily, so I have to watch my fat intake and I used low-dose aspirin every day. 4 years ago I suffered a heart attack, but have more or less recovered apart from a little breathlessness now and again. Stress is something I have to keep in check, so I have to teach myself to be more laid-back about what happens in life. _Derek

Wow, you quit eating foods with sugar for 20 years now? I couldn't even last a day with out something sweet to eat. And yeah too much fat in foods are not good. When I eat beef I notice that the following day my feet hurts, it's just weird. So, no more beef for me. I think as we mature we really need to be more relaxed and more laid back, stressing is not good for our health. Thanks for sharing!

Well, of course there are physical changes that our bodies will go through while we are gettig older, but I think that even though some of those are difficult to accept, but more positive changes that we go through are those of our minds. I think that as we get more mature we have a lot less emphasis on what the people around us think. Where we don't really think independently while we are young, as we get older, we do start to think more independently. In addition to us, there are actually others that depend on us as well as we get older.

It's not so much of the while hair. But I can't run as much with my kids now without being breathless fast. And just like you I really have to watch what I eat too. But its a beautiful feeling watching my kids grow and being a part of their lives.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to aging, and I should know as I am almost 60 THE DISADVANTAGES You have to watch what you eat more as everything seems togo to the hips and waistline. My skin is a lot stretchier and everything suddenly goes south! I need to colour my hair more as the greys are taking over from my hair colour I have aches and pains and am less able to do some things The diabetis that I knew would catch up with me one day finally has I don't feellike staying out partying late at night I get inundated with 'Over 50 Life Insurance' deals I am married to a pensioner!! THE ADVANTAGES My grandkids (and I can send them home!) Retirement in my country home In December I will get my free bus pass !!!!!! I don't care what people think or say I live every day as I want I can put all sorts of things down 'to my age' !!!

Hi Oldchem1! Thanks for sharing! I'm only 37 but what I eat already goes to my waistline, lol. I also need to color my hair every 3 mos. White hair seems to appear as fast. I feel pains too specially in the hands and feet when I eat beef or some fatty foods. And the advantages for me are I know more, lol, and I'm more patient compared before. Have a good day!
