I have to admit it to all my fellow mylotters here that I have developed a habit of observing people and I must tell you that it really gives you a unique experience. I travel nearly 3 hours everyday by train and I feel very bored. I have my headphone on all the time listening to music, but I also like observing people silently. People of all ages - to see their various actions and activities, some very rude, some really cool, some done out of ignorance while some purposefully. But, I must admit that the best part is to see small children behave in their childish innocent ways. I really enjoy it and have a smile on my face everytime I do it. I am sure many of you must also have done it. If not, you must surely give it a try. I bet you'll like it.

hi rajeshfgh I have to tell you that one of my most favorite snapshots was one of my one year old son who had chased a leaf that blew along the street from a light wind.He caught this leaf and studied his face full of delight as he stroked it and held it in his little hand., the look on his face was pure delight and learning. I loved that snap so much I wo uld like to get it blown u p and made into a larger photo. Watching people is like watching your own children. they get the most interesting looks on their faces as they study something new to them, and we so often just bypass that comp;letely not seein g that wonderful expression about something new to them.

Wow, I can really understand what you mean. I would love to have had a look at the picture you are describing. Yes, the innocent look is really awesome, they being fully engrossed in what they are doing, caring a damn about the bad, evil world.

It seems children demonstrate what we are meant to be: perhaps spontaneous and relaxed, awed and bewildered, if you will, of the beauty and drama of the world. Unfortunately, it seems man, inn the quest to a "fuller life" ,has made it impossible to live adult life in a "healthy, child-like" way. What do you think ?

I agree with you. As adults we get caught up in all unwanted things like jealousy, hatred, war, politics, etc. World would be such a nice place to like in if all were innocent like children....

Wow! I do have this kind of habit too. I have been doing long hour commuting during my high school and college days and whenever I got nothing to do on the transport vehicle, I will observe the people around me. From simple observations a lot will start to run in my head. I would have good reflection time just by seeing what other people is doing around me. I am a very observant kind of guy so I notice the slightest details around me and then try to analyze or even make a story out of something that I observed during the travel. It is a nice habit in my opinion as your mind is continuously working on even at travel times. I think observing is a good sharpening tool for the mind.
