Is Money = Happiness in Life?

I myself is trying my best to earn as much money as i can to have a better future. I know lots of people think that having much money does not mean that you are happy. But to me, as long as I get money, i feel happy and enjoy life better. When I have money, I can buy things for my daily life, I can make my life and my family better, etc. What do you think? I know hardly anyone that does not need money, but do you think having much money will make you feel happy?

Of course. Money can bring happiness to our life. We can buy things that can make us happy, do stuffs that can make us happy, help our relatives which of course can make us happy and other things. This is why I disagree in the saying that money is the root of all evil. It always depends on how we use money. Its just a plain paper afterall.

I agree you two in this point, but if you get happiness though this way,it is very hard.Do you have enough money to help your relatives? Do you know what is your relatives realy need?I doube it you can get happyiness by spending money on you relatives. Money is important, not the key to get hanppiness.

I don't think so. The main factor is spirit but not the meterial. What will it become if you have much money but not a friend? I have no courage to think.

You know? Sometimes money can bring you everything even love, and friendship, they may be fake, but you will not be able to really recognize them. You still feel happy though.

Happy with Money - Smiley is happy to see money.
Money does not necessarily equate to happiness. But lack of money can seriously affect one's mental state. In this case, money problems can be a prelude to a lot of negative emotions and surely, none of these emotions are conducive to being happy. Besides, it is quite strange for a person with lots of money to say that he is unhappy. More often than not, abundance is a good thing.

like the ecnomist says when the money has been a number, the money will bring less happniess to you. so, if you have earn a lot of money , then you will do not have any feeling about money then.

But just think about the wishes or dreams to take care of people we love, build up a stable life, we just can do these wishes with money on our hands. If we have money, we can make our dreams come true, and when our dreams come true, we feel satisfied, and then we will feel happiness also

I think it will depend entirely on the situation. We cannot deny the fact that money makes each of us happy. Try to observe people with no money, they are always in their bed doing nothing or just plain sleeping. But the one who has enough money is positive doing their daily routines in life. No worries no feelings of depression. It really helps us all but money can't buy happiness.

That's not true at all. The way you've put it, is that if you have enough money nothing will every worry you and you will go on with life normaly, as if it takes away depression just to have enough money, couldn't be more wrong. The same with your statement about not having enough money. Why would people just lie in bed if they don't have enough money? Have you seen people like that? I've seen people that doesn't have money so it adds up in the end of the month but still do a lot of things. Plus, wouldn't those people try to get work or whatnot? I feel that those statements aren't really true at all. Might be on a very few, but not the norm at all.

It depends. Money can make you happy but not at all times. Remember money is the root of all evils. As long as you earn the good way and spend it the right way, it can make you happy.

Of course, in this day and age for sure. But always remember, you cannot take it with you in the end. Too much of anything will destroy your happiness. So, lets put it this way. Having no money, is no fun. Having too much money brings other problems and is no fun either. There has to be a balance. A good balance in life, that is what we need.

Yes, we need to make our lives balanced, but now, one part we need to fulfill in our lives is...more money. Thanks for your sharing in my discussion, be friends?

I totally agree with you, you need money to be happy, not that money will buy you happiness but it's pretty hard to be happy without money. Without money how do you eat or put a roof over your head or clothes on your back. Without those things how could you be happy.....you really can't.....I don't care if people say otherwise....they aren't being honest with themselves if they say otherwise. I have married twice for love and they both didn't work out. The next time I get married I will not marry a guy that is broke or has no future of ever making it in life. I will not marry a loser again.... I will marry a good guy but a good guy with money. It is just as easy to fall in love with a rich guy as it is a pooor guy, maybe even easier as he has the money to spend on you and to pay attention to you by doing more for you. I am going to be selfish in my next relstionship and look for a guy with money...... Cheers and have a good day my friend, Chris

Definitely not for me. Love is first and then is money. You can be happy with whatever you have but you won't be happy without love and peace which derives happiness.

You cannot trust money to make you happy, maybe it will, maybe it won't? Years ago some reporter asked John D Rockefeller how much money was enough. His reply was, "Just a little more." It sounds to be as though he was never satisfied.

Money is one of the basic necessities right; but sometimes some people still long for happiness that does not come from money but some factors like health and a healthy family life. There are some people that also regards money as their gods. For others, fame is their happiness etc... One has its own preference. For myself it had to be balance: I want to have a healthy body and of course 50% money.

I personally don't think that money=happiness in life. If this statement was true then all the rich people in the world would have always be happy and without any problems.

It depends on how they see their happiness as, how they form up the meaning of happiness. To me, happiness is equal to my possibility to care and support those that I love, those that I care. I can be happy when I can give them comfortable lives. It is when I have money to do those things, with money, everything will be much easier. It's my own opinion, I just wanna share :)

Money and happiness are not directly linked. Happiness is being satisfied with what you have. If you have lots of money and still not satisfied, more money would not necessarily make you any more happy, as long as you are not satisfied with the amount you have. I have seen happy poor people, though it is a shame they are so rare. They don't mind going around their small odd jobs, as long as they get their needs met. If one isn't so greedy to have what everyone else has, why wouldn't one be happy?

I have been a businessman all my life, and that is quite a long time! Whilst earning enough money can be considered important, I have learned that is doesn't necessarily bring happiness. Money will come if you decide to support and serve others, by taking good care of people who want to spend money with you. Through service, money will come. But to do things just for money and money alone, will probably not bring very much at all. It may bring you money in the early stages, but then people will see that your motivation is only for money and nothing else. If we can be satisfied with the money we have, and continue to do our best for others - for make no mistake about it, there has to be others in order to have money - then money will come to us. One needs to think of all the monks and religious people who have chosen not to chase after money and notice how content they are. Strong desire only brings disappointment and as Buddha discovered, desire it the source of all suffering. Yes, get money, go for it, but don't desire it too strongly as it won't bring happiness. That is my experience... Good luck.. _Derek

I sometimes do not think that money = happiness in life. Usually, money = financial security, which means paying off expenses and getting everything that you want and need. I do not think wealth can make you happy because there are a lot of people who are struggling to make ends meet. Wealth can cause a lot problems towards those who are deeply need help and never be helped by these wealthy people. In these difficult times, it totally stupid about the rich people robbing money from the poor just to go freelancing around the world and taking companies oversees. That is what the rich people believe in doing what is wrong for the poor people. The wealthy people have no respect for the poor people whatsoever. They just enjoy seeing them suffer and leaving the world sadly. The wealthy people love to prank poor people for no reason. I wish everyone could be equal financially and stop being selfish over who has the most money in the world. In other words, money should not equal to happiness in life, but having financial security is the key.

From what I have read form those that have studied the money=happiness situation is that: After you have enough money to look after your needs, any more money will not add significantly to the degree of happiness. So the key is to be content to look after one's needs and then concentrate on something else like God, who can can add much more to our happiness.

I believe that money is part of finding happiness in life. In fact, any individual and even any organization can not move fully without money. So make use of it wisely and in good purpose because money is a gift that must be spent it good way.
