Friends, I love drinking milk, it is always pure cow milk, boiled and made thick. Sometimes it is made very thick like paste; we call that ‘Rabdi’, to this my wife does not add sugar, it tastes sweet as such due to lactose in it, because of thick constituency. Today is a festival here, in which mother’s fast for the well being of their kids. Though it is for women only, I too fasted, but felt hungry soon, may be due to diabetics. So my daughter in law gave me milk shake 3 times, she added glucose, cashew nut paste, almond paste to this too for the calories I need. Do you enjoy milk shakes or just plain milk? Do you have any festival in which women fast for well being, happiness of their kids? Professor

I do prefer milkshakes over just a glass of milk and I think that is due in part to the fact that I drank so much milk when I was a young child. My favorite kind of milkshake is one with peanut butter in it as well. It is so good. We don't have any festivals here that call for the mothers to fast for the well being and happiness of their children. However, being that I'm a cradle Catholic, we do fast on the Fridays in the 40 days following Easter in remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus.

I like an occasional milk shake however, ours are more like a drinkable thick ice cream....not anything like what your wife makes you. I do like plain milk as well, I had really taken a liking to it once I became pregnant with my first child. No fasting here for the happiness of my kids. The only way I'd fast or skip a meal for the sake of my kids is if we were low on groceries but not as a festival.

dear professor, it is usually fruit shakes for me, but always laced with milk and cream. there is no such festival as fasting for the well being of kids. but we do have here periodically some medical missions for women and children and powdered milk are distributed to them after the check up. mothers wants the well being and happiness of kids. they just have to be there always to guide. i think the children will appreciate that more because many mothers nowadays are always away at work and there is less bonding with the kids. have a nice day. ann

I love milk shakes of any flavor! There is one fast food place that sells an egg-nog milk shake near Christmas. I look forward to it every year. I know that they are fattening but I went for speech therapy and the therapist suggested that I drink thick milk shakes. I was having trouble swallowing and she said sucking a really thick milkshake through a straw would help. I was really happy about being told that I needed more milkshakes.

hi professor I love chocolate and strawberry milk shakes with strawberry ice cream but cannot handle them if they are too sweet so use sugar free ice cream instead. really so good.oh cashew nut paste and almond paste that would be delicious wow.and nuts like that are even good for diabetics too.I only use one percent milk because I have to cut back'on the fat c ontent. We do not have any festival in whihc women fast for well b eing but this is something we cou ld all do at times any way.

Hi Professor in the first place you should not fast if you are a diabetic[ when it comes to fasting] I only fast on good fridays[ family tradition]I my self do not believe in fasting unless Im sick or something. I Am just curious why do women fast for the wellbeing of their children?...why women? when they need all they have to put up with a husband and children and every day life? I do not question your tradition far from it...but it's that fair?

I looked this 'Rabdi' thing up. I think Rabdi is different from the American style milkshake. The American style milkshake is combination of ice cream and milk. Usually people add tons of unhealthy ingredients to the mix like chocolate syrup, cookie crumbs, candy bars, nuts, whipped cream, etc.. Americans eat an unhealthy diet. We eat like children 24/7. lol

Hi, I don't drink milk,so milkshake is not the drink for me. I forced myself to drink milk during my pregnancy, for the good sake of my baby, I got chocolate flavour milk and I have to drink it every morning. No choice, have to drink also although I don't like the milk taste and I drink for 9 months. Afterwards, no more milk for me, I just don't like the taste of the milk..feel like vomitting out.

I love drinking but without flavor. My day starts with a glass of milk and ends with the same drink. Sometime I like to drink mango shake but that is only in mango season.

When i was in high school, one of our beverage options was a milkshake. they were quite the popular item. I can still remember these milkshakes. They were so thick and choclate. They were such a treat for any lunch time.

I do love milk shakes. Recently i have been addicted to Strawberry milk shake.I drink it almost everyday. When it comes to fasting we christians only fast during the time of lent irrelevant of male or female. But sometimes women do fast to fulfill their promises or their petitions with GOD. Its the faith that matters and nothing else.
