good evening fellow myloters. especially to you Christians. this discussion is all about you. lt is widely known that the bible is the word of god and everything written in it is obviously true. What are your thoughts on unicorns? Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Can'st thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? (job 39:9-12) 'Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.' (Psalms 22:21) 'For the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls.' (Isaiah 34:6-7) These are not the only references. Thank you in advance

Hmm...First of all, I've never heard of the bible being the 'word of God' it was written by man, not God...It is in reference to him, but not his word. As an avid Christian, even I think the bible distorted many things...As for unicorns, I don't discredit anything that people think can't be real. How do we know? Anything could be real out there. Just because none of us have seen them, does not mean they don't exist...Though I do tend to have an active imagination.

No fossil records of unicorns pretty much means no unicorns outside of our active imaginations

@ivansama : in the 18th century, the cabinets of curiosities were full of unicorn horns. It is only in the 19th century that these horns were identified as tusks of narwhal whales. So, during "the Age of Reason", people were believing in unicorns... The Bible was written thousands of years before. And I think like lilblondiemjd : "Just because none of us have seen them, does not mean they don't exist..." Each years many new animals are discovered. Some of them are big animals : a new leopard in Borneo in 2007, a new dolphin in Australia in 2005. Maybe have we not yet (re)-discovered the unicorn .

You can't prove unicorns don't exist! They never show themselves to mere mortals so you will never see one. But they do exist. Touché, atheist heathen!

Yes, admit it! You secretly believe in unicorns but society rejects such ideas because they worship the science god and believe in their so called "theories based on evidence and observation". That is their creed and they repeat it over and over to make you believe it. You wouldn't otherwise and you know it! Faith is the only evidence and the absolute Truth, so repent now and pray to the magic rainbow unicorns so they will forgive your sins and not send you in the fiery pits of the Underworld!!! Think I'm a getting a little over my head here, eh?

Hi. ivansama. I once thought that they were real. But now, I see that they are of fantasy and mythology. I think that in the past world there were such unicorns on earth. It would be neat to actually see one in real life.

You think in the past world they were unicorns? That means you still believe in unicorns even though you admit it's mythology and fantasy.

The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew. The actual word used is "re'em." It is an animal described as wild and resembling an ox, much larger than our traditional view of a unicorn. In Jewish folklore, the re'em was a very large beast with a horn in the middle of its head. Unless referring to a rhinocerous, i have to imagine that this animal is extinct now.

Well there is no extinct animal that resembles this.
