The Major League baseball is called as World Series. But in it only the clubs from United States play. So why is it called the World Series and not something like United States Series or the National Baseball series? Cheers! Ram

normally the most famous american sports are played to the best level only in the Us if we consider baseball, american football for example so probably in many cases they consider that the best players even non-american will play in this league and so they will consider a kind of world championship!!In reality even as regards the nba for example teams that win the title are called world champion even if basketball is played also in other parts of the world..i think they also have this kind of habits..
