Here I thought romance was dead. OK, but I have to share this story with you all, because I thought it was ridiculously cute and romantic, in a story-book kind of way. My mom's friend's daughter, Erin, recently got engaged to her long-time BF Chris. Chris likes fireworks (although he has a day job, just had to say that). Anyway, so it was nighttime, and they were at a family/friends gettogether, and they were off in the center talking (while everyone was off to the side), and suddenly there were 2 heart-shaped fireworks in the background, glowing. They didn't go out, they were on some kind of wood backing or something. So there they were, with 2 glowing heart-shaped fireworks in the background, and he got on one knee and proposed to her, with all of her family and close friends surrounding. I thought this was INCREDIBLY ADORABLE!!!! Have you, any of your friends, family, etc, experienced this kind of story-book-type romantic marraige proposal? What was yours like?

That is so sweet and romantic and cute! Oh my, she is a lucky girl. I haven't been proposed to but I hope its as touching as that proposal. The only proposal I've seen was my mom's. My stepdad came to our family reunion, and he told me in advance that he was going to propose to my mom. Right after our big family dinner, he stood up and thanked everyone for making him feel like he was part of the family and then he turned to my mom and says that he wants to make it real, said a few more sweet lines then presented her with the ring right there in front of her sisters and brothers. My mom was speechless- which is a feat in itself. lol.

That is very sweet. I have never and probably will never experience anything this romantic with my husband. He just doesn't really think like that. I can't think of any other romantic proposals involving anyone that I know personally. I would love to know someone who had something like that happen with them though.
