Are holy books that claim to be God's word enough?? Are lessons given by your parents enough?? What about something in your life that seemed to be a miracle?? Is that enough?? Is the promise of eternal bliss enough to make you believe?? Maybe it's the fear of hell. I have a friend who only believes because of his fear of hell. Are any of these things enough to believe in God or do you need DIRECT CONTACT!!!

There are more than a grains of sand or more than a billions and billions more stars and galaxies than can prove that a real God is really truly exists. And, can only be answered in one mighty and powerful word, and that is Faith. Faith is only the tip of the iceberg for all of our discoveries, if we want more, we have to go deeper. Faith has always and provided us a lot of an open doors for self wonderful discoveries.

Most all discoveries even in science start with a belief. One must venture beyond beliefs if one wants to discover the truth. Thanks for all your comments!!

This is not to carry our own chairs (coz these are all about our wants and needs not only as being in Christianity but also with other humans) and to make us all proud of it, as our beings are based on the faith of Christianity and also with other theists faiths, are people or persons that are mostly more successful on their own fields of explorations, discoveries, creations and inventions for himself and for other humankind. History most popular scientists, explorers, inventors, physicists, astronomers (even history ancient astronomers and alchemists) and so on are theists like Christians. Because the secret is they believe in the science of invisibles or mostly based on the Science of Spirituality. These famous people or persons first believe in the science of the invisibles until it became a multi layered of realities or what we called mutidimensional of reasonings and realities. And yes mostly of these people or persons indulge their discoveries of their sciences are mainly based on the cosmic or physics of spiritualities. And we as Christians are mainly based on the faith of spiritualities. That coordinates our physical body, our mental body and our spiritual body. The Bible encourages people to acquire knowledge..... The Bible teaches a rational faith, based upon knowledge and refined through testing. Christians are encouraged to use their minds in all aspects of life, including our spiritual life - prayer and worship. God values truthfulness to a high degree and wants us to know the truth about his creation, the nature of His being and His scriptures. Ultimately, God wants all people to come to the knowledge of the truth of His salvation through Jesus Christ, so that they may spend eternity with Him in the new creation.... Evidence for God from Science ....... http://www.godandscience.org/ Test everything. Hold on to the good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21) God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:4-5) The mind of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15) Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'" (Matthew 22:37) Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD (Isaiah 1:18)

Science of the invisibles. Hmmm?? Isn't all knowledge really invisible until it is discovered??? One should carry a open mind and a wide view if one is to see the possibilities. I do not understand why the discovery of multidimensions should change anything other than point out how much more is left to discover. Perhaps you are one who can only see the good in things. I would never want to change that. Though there are good things in the bible, much of it is the creation of mankind. The only words I can accept as being from God are those which actually come from God. Faith or beliefs only serve to point me where I can search to discover the real truth. If I want to learn about you, I will not stay in books. I will seek you out to discover you from you. Thanks for all your comments!!

The education you recieve obviously have a big influence about your thoughts and beliefs. But once we grow up, start to think independently and are able to compare, we can make our own decision about what we see, what we learned and based on our and others experience. In my case, actually I don't need any proof that God exists. I believe that He exists. The only direct contact I need is reading in the Holy Scripture every day and praying or talking to Him sometimes.

Interesting. I am one who can never settle on mere beliefs. We are supposed to become more than the sum of what we are taught as children. If one truly thinks for themself, shouldn't one question more instead of accepting more???? Thanks everyone for all your comments!!!

Funny how you talked about thinking for yourself and stuff we learn and then said you need no proof. XD just saying...

Hi ivansama, do you think that children think for themselves? That's something your learn during your childness where you get basicly enough knowledge to think on your own and to take your own decisions. Without knowledge, it's quite difficult to take the right decision without knowledge. On the other hand, as less you know as more proof you need.

i dont think i need proof to know and agree that god exists. For sure with me and my beliefs i am assured in my own way that he does exist and works wonders in my life.

I think deep down we all know God whether we care to admit it or not. Placebo??? If God exists then He can be found. Perhaps a search is in order. Thanks everyone for all your comments!!

I have personally never believed in the Abrahamic god. It's simply illogical to me and all the dogma that pervades the religions are utterly absurd and arbitrary. I think if a god like that could possibly exist, he's a piece of trash who doesn't deserve to be worshiped anyway. However, speaking logically, there are an infinite number of gods, higher powers and religions in the world. Most of them contradict each other entirely. Some even contradict themselves. There is no way to prove that any one of them is the "true" religion. There is no way to prove the existence of any god from any religion, nor any way to disprove any one of them, either. There is the common phrase, "the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence". However in the absence of any evidence of anything, there is only speculation and blind faith. I personally do not believe in blind faith at all.

VERY GOOD!!! Well said. Perhaps to find God one must venture out on their own with an open mind, a wide view, and a willingness to see what is, rather than bend the truth to our will. You seem to be one who could find God. Look around you. To understand how this world and it's people do add up, is to understand God. When one understands, one can see doors that could bring you to what most think isn't possible. The proof will be when you discover God for yourself. Thanks for all your comments!!

Thank you, but I must strongly disagree. Like I said, I do not believe in god. i never have and I never will. The world and it's people add up just fine on their own without any god to give it meaning.

Look closely, I never asked you to believe. I merely pointed in the right direction. If you truly see and understand this world then you can only see it as a MASTERPIECE!!!! Be who you must. It's a part of the plan. Thanks for all your comments!!

Hi bird, I feel that there is a knowing within everyone of us that there is more to life than the few years that we spend here in physicality. Some people have buried it so deep that they are unlikely to discover it in this lifetime. Although I've read the Bible many times, I don't need it or any other holy book to prove that God exists because I know and no doubt have always known. I have my own thoughts of who or what God is, but I don't think that anyone can describe God as it would be beyond our comprehension at this point in our spiritual evolution. Blessings.

I guess rocket science is hard for mere ants to accomplish. The more we learn; the more we understand God. Seems the biggest problem to understanding is ourselves. WE all know it all. Thanks for all your comments!!

If our self satisfaction is the only guage of our beleiving to God, you cannot reach what answer to your question. The bible, parents advices, miracle, eternal blessing are those few proof only that God exists. See everything here on earth all things including human being don't say to me it is not created by God. This is created by God, controlling by God, people are not believing only because fear of hell but they knows that God exist, God loves us, God bless us, and God promise us eternal blessing because we are God children... see you around

Those who have faith don't need these things to believe in God but to give us a better understanding of Him and His love and desire for us. Non believers say that science has evidence that no god is needed to create the universe; but when you ask them the hard questions, their answer always has the word, "Theory," in it. And what is more, their theories keep changing. First they say there was the, "Big Bang," then they say there was no big bang. First there were four dimensions, now there are 12 with a parallel universe where Elvis is alive. I wonder if they're talking about Heaven or Hell? Anyone with a lick of sense can see that all around us was wonderfully and fearfully made by a creator. Of course, they will say, "So who created God?" As I have said, more than once, "Something has to be eternal, and that something is God." I find it comical that they can believe some of the theories they have, but can't or won't believe in God. I know God directly and have the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit. I talk to Him and He talks with me. I know His word is alive and sharper than any two edged sword. God's Holy Book is further evidence of His existence. Like God, it is unique in all the world. Try studying it. You might be surprised what you'll learn.

Yes, it is a lesson that one should never rely on beliefs. One must discover the truth rather than blindly believe. I agree science does not have all the answers. Yes, they change their story from time to time but they are just trying to correct their mistakes as they go. This is something religion will not do. Faith and beliefs are good for only one thing. They point us in a direction where we can search for the truth. It's when we think we know it all that we have really quit searching. There is always more to learn. One should never quit searching. Thanks for all your comments!!

Love the conversation :). Just on an off-beat, here's something that came to my mind as I read a lot of the comments... if someone has contact they have proof enough. If someone thinks they might have contact then that is a different story all together. I also see that belief is always a component - whether it be in facts/science or any other part of reality - like God and spirituality. Belief - like love - is a choice just as simple as any other physical choice... once one has or develops the spiritual strength and coordination. Thanks for the topic :)

Belief is a choice however too many people stop discovering after they believe. There is an endless supply of knowledge to be acquired. The search for Knowledge should begin with a belief not stop. For those who have discovered God, they have proof God exists, however, once again, one discovers there is even more to discover than before. We ants have lots and lots to learn. Thanks for all your comments Fire10

Well ancient books that talk about gods are about as creditable if not less creditable than modern books talking about vampires. My parents used to assure me Santa and the tooth fairy are real too. And l don't fear a place l know doesn't exist. also all the supposedly miraculous things can be explained perfectly with science. XD Direct contact or at least some little hint is needed at this point.

I agree that holy books view on God simply does not add up. This doesn't mean that God does not exist. It means God leaves the discover of everything up to us. Most all knowledge must be earned. The path to discovery creates wisdom. It's all a test of intelligence. The mistake most people make is they assume direct contact isn't possible. Perhaps God is waiting to see if any of His children has the wisdom to understand and to see the open door. The journey to understand isn't as simple as reading a book and following a few rules. Knowledge that spans the universe is going to take time and work. An open mind with a wide view will make the journey much easier. Thanks for all your comments!!

ivansama,Surely you can't believe that. All the secrets of the universe stare us in the face. Our intelligence allows us to see. Surely mankind has that much intelligence without holy books.

Yeah but without the holy books there is absolutely nothing to suggest the concept of an almighty intelligent designer

I don't need a visual proof to believe. When I was younger I searched for a visual proof, but I don't anymore. I just accept that God exists and He is the Lord of the created world. If you don't believe in him, you won't believe in Him, no matter what. And if you strongly believe in God, you don't need a proof of His existence, because you sense Him inside your being.

Yes, I do believe we all know God whether we care to admit it or not. As we all know there are lots of issues around religion and God. Much of mankind would rather bend the truth to their will rather than see things as they really are. Just lessons to learn. Thanks for all your comments!!
