Eskrima, any one like this here o mylot?

The word is so intimidating and scary for me but when I tried it one afternoon I loved it and I love the sweat and the thought that I could defend myself from bad guys. Its good that our officemates hired someone to teach us and its so convenient for all of us since its held here in the office twice a week and its really something that could help us release the stress and after every session it feels good that we are able to express it through the moves. How about you mylotters have you tried eskrima? Thank in advance for sharing and have a nice day to all!

In one martial arts system where I am one of the instructors we have something similar. So in a way it can be said that I have done Escrima. We use different names, partly because the development in each martial arts school was, and still is, separated from each other. Nevertheless there are many similar moves, and there are also major differences. For example we have more footwork. Actually what is important in learning martial arts is to understand what can be done with a particular technique.
