Health or wealth?

I used to occupy a managerial position but I have to give it up because the workload and the stress was precisely eating me up, worst, it gave me an elevated blood pressure, or a hypertension. I travel a lot and always have to meet clients, beat some deadlines and ensure I was to hit my monthly quota. The pay was excellent, but the prize I was getting was a threat to my health making my husband worried of its consequence. The prestige was there so with financial stability, however,I just cannot risk my health, I value it more than any other material possession..Did I choose the right thing?

You have made the right decision. All the wealth in the world cannot give you health but with health, you can get all the wealth. But one important question, are you in need for the monetary incentive that the job brings you? If so, then you should bite the bullet first and wait till you have tide it over.

Not that much, the exhaustion from that job did not deserve a second thought, for me..

Definitely yes. If it was causing you some serious problems then it was not worth it. Keep in mind that the primary goal of earning something is to enjoy life. How would you be able to achieve if you are doing something that allows you to earn substantially but yet shortening your life. You can always find a job suitable to you and your health. It is not necessary that we work so hard to the point we have to give up something. Everything has be in equilibrium. Find a job that promotes work-life balance.

Yes, work and life should be in equal footing, otherwise one has to be compromise. Happiness is not measured anyway with what you have, it's in how you enjoy with what you have. Thank you..

I would say that you definitely chose the right thing. You see, when my father was alive he worked as an assistant hospital administrator for the Federal Bureau of Prisons and he passed away when he was very young from a massive heart attack. We were later told that if he had not been in such a high stress career that he probably would have lived a lot longer. I think that our family would have been a lot happier if we would have had our father growing up.

Yah!!you have choose the right thing actually.. HEALTH for me is the most important although we need wealth in this world.. If you have risk in your health, Then you cannot find wealth..And of course health cannot be buy by wealth because it is the first and the last and most of all..the only gift of God that when damaged..it cannot be back anymore!!!!

Hello Lexielilly! I believe personally, that you chose the right thing. I know it's quite hard to let go of the financially stability however, if it will risk your health, then it is not worth it. I say that you can find another job that you will be happy with and with less stress, I think you have all the right qualification, just be patient, find time as well to rest first before actively pursuing your career! Best of luck and health! :-)

I think you chose the right thing. It would be pointless if your whole body breaks down eventually that you wouldn't be able to continue the job anyway. I think you should get some rest and have balance in your life.

You are right. Health is certainly more important than wealth. No matter what, we must not exert ourselves too much that it harms us and all we get are a list of health problems. What use is there if we have a lot of money. All those money will only be spent on the bills 'Touchwood!' This is what will happen if we don't take good care of our bodies. Although it's kind of like a waste that you gave up your managerial position, I do think that you made the right decision. Nothing beats having a good health. Health is wealth! Don't you think so? If your body is in tip-top condition, healthy in that sense, then you'll have all the energy to do all the work that you like, instead of staying in the office, under the air-con and doing piles and piles of work.

Of course you did, I know that without that pay sometimes it may be hard but think of it like this it is better to be alive and have a bit of a rough patch then be gone and not have anything. I think your husband will agree that it is more important to have you around than the money that you bring into the household. Whenever it comes to your health you have to choose it first over anything because what good is having money if you are not around to spend it and enjoy it. There has to be a balance with everything and if you see that something is throwing you off that balance it is better to just try to get your balance and your health back rather than risk something really bad happening.

Oh yes, you choose the right thing because If you are earning big, financially stable but your health is at risk that money is not enough to support you when you get serious illnesses besides you won't enjoy life too because of your health problems! I don't mind not much money as long as I am healthy and can go anywhere I would like without worrying my health!

It is your right to decide what you'll be focusing on. In that case health is already the bigger concern. You can actually just invest your money since you're financially stable. Of course, wealth is always chased by many and few have them, we can't just leave the wealth aside. I also hope you got well now. Happy lotting

You have taken the correct decision. Our first wealth is health. If we don't have health, we are useless. You can search for another job which is not risky. Look your health; and if you have it, praise God, and value it next to a good conscience; for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of; a blessing that money cannot buy.

both. But you need first tot be healthy before becoming wealthy. as long as you are healthy, you can finish every task and job efficiently and the results will be beyond your expectations. in the end it will guide you on being wealthy. that is why they have defined health is wealth.

yes, you did the right thing. I had that same scenario with you too. A few yrs ago, I was forced to choose between health and my job that pays really well. I ended up prioritizing my health because it is true that health is wealth.

Hi Lexielilly, your question is a good question for every person....i think in a persons life two things is important that's are Health and Wealth...as per my view health is more important than wealth.. i see many people suffering from various kind of dangerous disease, but yhey have a lot of money to enjoy their life, but they can't...if someone's health is okey then he can affort to spend his life happiely....are you agree with me??
