Do you collect autographs, memorabilia, photos, or other specialty items?

I bought a signed copy of the pilot script for TVD (The Vampire Diaries, a sci-fi/supernatural fantasy show on the CW Thursdays) this evening, and I am just giddy over it. I have collected a few things in the past but I've never purchased a script, and I've never browsed listings specifically for autographed items. I actually only got the idea because of something I saw on twitter via one of the actors from the show lol. Sooo... does anybody here collect anything special - what is it and why do you love it? How much are you willing to spend to enhance your collection? Do you showcase it or is it more for you than to be displayed? I'm going to display mine... eventually.

LOL! Well.... Nina Dobrev (Elena), Paul Wesley (Stefan), Ian Somerhalder (Damon), Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy), and Katarina Graham (Bonnie) I'm a total TVD nut, but I found a forum where the people are nuttier than ME! That's saying a LOT. I was so excited for the pilot and I loved it. I feel lucky to have not had to bid against anybody to win. I'm kinda geeky over Glee but not to this extent. I just dvr my Glee eps and save them. I actually purchase and keep TVD stuff.

OMG i'm super jealous now!!! lol thats awesome I need to see a pic can we see a pic? *claps hands gets giddy eeek* I've purchased the dvd and have pre ordered season 2 on amazon already thats as geeky as i've got so far again apart from stalking them all on twitter didn't need to explain who they were i already knew but thanks ;) It caught me by surprise actually I watched the pilot cos it was kevin williamson and i loved dawsons creek and it's rare for me to find books i haven't already read so when they said it was about vampires i thought cool. I am hooked now was so disappointed last week when there was no episode to download (everythings to slow here in england I wanna watch it when you guys do lol). Im ok with glee but it's not something that bothers me if i miss it where as if i miss a VD or SN i might just cry. Funnily enough I never used to watch that much tv now theres all these shows like VD, SN and Fringe and Legend of the Seeker another one I lurrve lol Where did you buy it was it an ebay job? was it for charity or where they just selling it off?

I posted a link on my fb... lol! I'll post a pic after it arrives I know it shipped because I got an email confirming it so now I just wait. I haven't ordered the second season yet but I will... when there's a release date lol. I don't stalk everybody, the most active ones.... I didn't read the books before I watched the show. I really like the differences between them, as I think the story translates much better the way it's done on tv and with the characters written the way they are. I think I have a better appreciation FOR the books because the show is different, if that makes any sense. I detested them when I first read them... the only one who was almost true both ways was Damon. We actually record a LOT of tv and oddly enough this is the ONLY show I am caught up on. Everything else is backed up weeks and weeks. I just finally watched the Rocky Horror Glee ep the other night lol. I bought it on ebay, I came across it quite by accident when I was trying to see if I could find something autographed by Nina Of course... I only had the idea of looking for autographs when I saw Ian's twitter about autographs - which he proclaimed 'cool' lol. Nothing says love like displayed autographed goodies, eh? Did you hear about his foundation? What a cool birthday wish/gift.

I have a few autographs of sports players but most I have collected trading cards without the autographs, just the first card of the players. They are not for display they are just for me to look at from time to time and enjoy Some of them are very valuable, most are not, because the players are still playing. The cards will, hopefully, be worth a lot more when their careers have ended.

I've never had any sports trading cards - although I did buy a set of bio cards from the show lol. I don't know if these are signed, I'd think not because the whole set of 8 cards only cost me $1 but I guess I'll see when they arrive. Which sports do you follow.. a variety or just a specific one?

I have always tried to stick to baseball because I pay more attention to it. But I have some other sports cards that were recommended to be years ago by a card shop owner. Don't know if they are even worth anything as I know nothing about hockey and very very little about football

i have never thought of this before. only because i don't like to collect things. i think that comes from being an army brat who moved around so often. i always lost things that i liked. so because of that being a collector of things just never came to me. I do thing that it's a really cool thing to do. i say display it and be proud of it!

This is really special to me, I haven't enjoyed a show or the actors (and the chemistry between them) so much in years. In fact, I can't really think of a show from the past that I liked this much lol. Maybe ER, but in a different way. I used to be a real pack rat despite having moved... 4 times in my life. Wait, 5 times. Anyway, I've gotten a lot better at just tossing out things that I really don't need any more. It really scares one of my friends - she's a bit of a packrat too and she came to help me one time. I just relentlessly threw stuff out of my spare room and into trash bags. She goes 'aren't you even going to look at anything?' and I said no, because if I did, that would probably prevent me from throwing things out lol. I'd never toss out my collection things though. Basically I hadn't touched anything in that room for over 6 months, so that told me I really didn't need it.

Movies are fun to collect When my ex and I were still together, we had a huge collection of over 800 dvds. I don't have near as many any more because I took very few when I left. I occasionally buy movies, like Disney ones or tv show eps for my daughter, but lately I've been buying seasons of tv shows, if anything.

Hi Hatley! We only have a few beanie babies, a few for my daughter I bought her when she was a baby. One is a little pink bear with red x's and o's, the other is a little yellow bear with her name on it. We also have a beanie butterfly with her name on it, I think a friend got that one for us when she was two. She actually has her own collection of stuffed 'babies', we call them (right now) 'the blue things', they are bush babies and they are light blue and fuzzy with big ears and long tails. I purchased a green one so far and will also purchase a pink and purple one and she will get the three new ones for Christmas along with a little net for her room for either the bush babies or her beanies. I think she will prefer to have the babies with her but we'll see lol. I'd love to see your collection, do you have any photos of them?
