I have a sister who have just arrived last night from Vancouver. When she arrived, well she was so excited to see her husband and I really do understand her... So, I just find my place to where her belongings are situated, but she knew I was there, I don't expect really for her to hug me, because before she left for Canada, we don't really hug each other I just kiss her hand as a sign of respect but that's it. But last night, I was just surprised she searched for me, and grab me and hugged me in front of many people in the airport. hahaha I don't know, it feels awkward yet feels so amazing, only then did I realize I miss her. weird? How bout you lotters how often do you hug your siblings? and do you do it in public places like airport?

I grew up with a lot of people around me because I used to live in a 'Compound' with my relatives. I am an only child but I do have a lot of cousins. Since I am the Ate or big sister of everybody I treat them like my little babies. I am fond of hugging and kissing (besos. please don't understand this the wrong way)them. Hugging and kissing is not a taboo in my family. So I am used to it and I love it when someones hugs and kisses me. It gives me a happy feeling inside just like what you felt when your sis hugged you:-)

Yeah, maybe because that's how you grew up. And by treating the babies as your doing, you are actually bringing them up to be huggy and kissy people like you. hehehe that's just sweet. Thank you... God bless you!

I am really an affectionate person. I hug people even if its in public. I mean, for me, there is nothing wrong with it. It shows how you miss the person and all. Well, to my brothers, they does not really like to be hugged because its awkward for them especially that they are in teens and maybe someone would bully them because of that. To my sister though, I hug her much. ;)

Yeah, maybe that was the issue before for me, I don't hug my siblings because I feel like it's something so not manly to do. So refrained from doing such... But now I know, it means a lot, specially when your all grown ups. Thanks for the response! God bless you! have a happy life! :D

I have hugged my sister in December of last year. I met her at the library. I have not seen her in a whole year before then. I was very glad to hug her. Continue to spread your love of hugging your siblings. Enjoy every moment of love with them too.

Hehe..nice questions! I am the youngest in my family. So hugging comes naturally to me. I m always hugging my sister and mother like a small baby craving for attention and affection. I don't know if i would've behaved the same way had i got a brother.... ummm

I couldn't remember hugging any of my siblings. We are all awkward about caring for each other. We don't even greet each other during our birthdays anymore. We did that when we were kids and now it just feel so awkward. I'm not sure who's fault it is that we are all just distant and cold to each other, but one thing's for sure, when another person tries to hurt any of us, one of us will come running and help any time!

That's the best thing about siblings. We don't need to tell each other how much we cared, but if somethings up, we really are there to back them up. Siblings are siblings, yeah! It made me realize how bless we are if we have siblings, a family that we can count on. :D

I've never hug my sibling. It's unusual in my country to hug brother or sister especially in front of other people. The most thing is only kiss the cheek but it's only between sisters, and kiss hand between sister and brother.

Well, when any of my siblings go abroad and usually when they return, I kiss them because I know they received journey mercies form God otherwise we all know too well how plane crushes are so common these days-seeing her alive after such a journey brings relief and love both to her and to the God of mercy!

We are a pretty huggy family really. I just hugged my sister and brother-in-law tonight when I went to their house. But I actually see my siblings more lately so I don't hug them quite as much.

I can't remember. THe last time I saw my sister was two years ago and that was the last time I felt her hug. :( I don't hug my younger brother because it feels awkward. He is a lot taller and bigger than I am and he is not the kind of a person who wants to be hug, well, not by a sister. I'll probably get and give a hug to my sis when she will finally come home. She is working abroad and we often say love, hugs and kisses but of course, just through writing. I'll be looking forward of seeing her and hugging her soon.:)

Not that often now that we are older. But when we were younger, I hugged and kissed them all the time. We were raised to be affectionate with each other. Nowadays, I hug/kiss them during special occasions or when I am scared. I know its difficult for us to show affection to our siblings but I think the best best friend are your siblings since there is no separating from them. If you have a good relationship with them, you will not be alone when you grow old. Unlike a husband/wife, divorce/annulment/separation is not an option. My mother has good relations with her siblings. Now that they are in their twilight years, they depend on each other especially during health emergencies. I hope that I and my siblings will have the same kind of relationship when we grow old.

Yeah, siblings are for real forever and yes, separation is not an option. I find it sweet when you are not used to hug each other at home, but when you see each other after a long time, you hugged, wheeew, it's just sweet...

I was never raised with my parent and or siblings but can tell you that in my country it is tradition and found respectful for us to hug in public. Basically anytime we first meet up and when we are leaving. Anyone not doing so will be considered disrespectful, except for the men they handshake, same may hug an elder.

Wow, then your country is just sweet. hahaha hugging here is not so much of a tradition or culture specially to men, it's really awkward. But what my sister did is just sweet. :D I appreciate it. :D

I hug my sister every time we see each other after a while normally at the airport. I don't really hug my brothers that often though. My mom hugs me a lot and pats my back kind of hard when she does. I don't like that really. I've hugged my dad a few times, but I think it's kind of awkward just like it is with my brothers.

Wow, that's sweet. My siblings and I do not hug, but we are still very close. We are not the type of family to express our emotions anyway. However we share thoughts and views freely without fear of being judged or cast out. : )

I see. We are somewhat the same, we were not brought up in the family hugging each other. We are not used to it, that's why I was surprised when my sister arrived here in the Philippines she hugged me...

I hug my sister every time I see her. She lives 3 hours away. I also hug her when I say goodbye. She's not a hugger. She really doesn't like to hug people. But I don't want to have any regrets, so I make sure she knows I love her. She'll let me hug her, but she isn't very enthusiastic in response.

With my little sister, I am apt to hug her on a regular basis because as the two of us have gotten older, we've grown closer. With my brother, on the other hand, I feel like it isn't really appropriate to show signs of affection toward him because of his wife. If it wasn't for the fact that his wife treats him the way that she does with all of us, I think that I really wouldn't mind at all to share hugs with him, but she acts like she really doesn't want us around then I think it would be something different when the affection was to come in.

I hug my siblings everyday. I believe it is one of the best way to show how much you love and care for the person. I can also do it in public because there is nothing wrong of showing how much you love the person. She just missed you so much that is why she have done that.
