The idea that humans evolved from monkeys is a misunderstanding (actually a downright lie made by fundamentalists) What evolution actually says is that humans AND monkeys (and other primates) all evolved from a common ancestor. We actually have something like 80 or 90 percent (I can't remember the exact figure) of our genetic make up in common with chimps. That fact clearly illustrates the relationship.

here is my problem with evolution the concept and you can dress it up all you want means that at some point a monkey ( whatever, any animal) gave birth to a species other than what the first animal was an ape gave birth to a humanoid a lizard to a different kind of lizard I think we can all agree that that is the concept of evolution in a nutshell well I think that is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard in my life and I'm not going to believe it just because someone with letters behind his name says it's true the day I see an animal give birth to something other than it's own species I might consider changing my mind but untill then I'm gonna stick with my opinion that this is all crap

Hi, SNM! There's a lot of misunderstanding that happens when any idea is booted around from person to person, and place to place. Claiming we evolved from monkeys is totally a misunderstanding, although the humanoid apes were our ancestors. The proof that birds evolved from dinosaurs is quite new, but the proof is compelling. There are many other examples. However, the emotions involved in religious and cultural beliefs gets into the mix, and few if any of us really know what these theories about evolution are. They do, indeed, remain theories, for those reasons!

thanks for response anyway so you say that we evolved from apes then why people living in different places look different why we are not similar in appearance if we have a common ancestor
