i'm really not sure what kind of vitamins to take, and when i was younger, i used to take lots of vit C (caps/juices) and it made me suffer from hyperacidity. today, i just bought a supplement and i'm not sure if it's good for me. i haven't consulted this to my dr yet I feel that I need to take food supplements daily. what do ya think?

I just take a standard multivitamin. I figure I get most of what I need through a healthy diet, but it doesn't hurt to take a multi. The one other thing I take, which isn't really a vitamin, is fish oil. I'm hoping it is as good for the heart as they say it is.

I take multi-vitamin tablets on a daily basis, one caplet after lunch every day. I do also regularly drink fruit juices every morning at breakfast time. Orange juice is my favorite. That's the source of vitamin C for me. In fact, that helps a lot in keeping cold and sneezing away.

I don't usually bother myself about supplements unless I feel my body really needs it. My doc told me I did not need to take supplements once I had my servings of fruits etc. There was a time for example I felt that I must be anemic and got a blood test done only for it to show that I had a bit more iron than I should in my blood. As a woman I still concern myself with especially my iron intake and recently I decided to add folic acid and vit B to the list as well. Those assist with how the body uses up iron efficiently so I want to try taking all three and see what the results will be.

My doctor has prescribed for me vitamins A and D. That's all I take. I take so many prescriptions, I have no desire to add anything.

Hi , I hope you had mentioned what kind of food supplement it was that you bought, anyway you mentioned "I feel that I need to take food supplements daily" yes I do believe that our body has some kind of built in biological warning or alarm system that in a way gets triggered when something is lacking in the diet. anyway since you have had a bad history with vitamin c, guess to consult a doctor would not do any harm. Wish you the best

It is important to take food items that contain all kinds of vitamins like A,B,B12 ETC. simply taking pills will not do. a balanced diet with all the vitamins, proteins and carbohydrates is a must for one's diet and perfect health.a company like AMWAY for example does have vitamin selling in its agenda but it has to be taken along with a healthy diet.

I only take a vitamin for people over 50...and fish oil. That's it. If you eat right you don't need to take alot of extra things..
