I must say it was a disappointment. Yes, 30 Days of Night-Dark Days was all it could of been but nothing it should have been. I hate typical, obvious and mundain. I really do. The language this vampyre type had, the look, the storyline from the first movie was the beginnings of what could have been a really good vamp series. But in watching the sequel I was really let down. The main character,Stella, found her a new love, a pack of vamp slayers track her down, and she ends up getting bitten. Whoopdeedoo. So the writer on the actual novel, Steve Niles, and Ben Ketai didn't do much. What were they thinking? They even leave the crisp atmosphere of the artic and change it to Los Angeles. Bringing Angel on board to rid the city of this clan of vamps would have been more exciting than bringing Stella to L.A. It had so much potential and even the original writers couldn't bring anything new or different to the table. Have you ever been really looking forward to a sequel only to be totally let down?

The first one was the most realistic vamp movie I had seen in ages. The sequel was a disappointment.

again I wrote five sentences and zap it was gone why? this is so annoying.I was saying every time I have seen a movie based on a Stephen King novel and he is not on the team to write it the movie is lousy as it just losely follows the book and adds crap that' was never in the novel. I read the novels first then saw the movies. Those that he oversaw were great but those where he had no input were blah. Also so m anytimes i like the first movie but the sequel stinks as its not followin the novel.

I have been so disappointed by him. I like his descriptive power but his books always let me down. And I am talking book, not the movies made from them. His early ones were good but later he fell terribly. This sequel was actually written by the guy who wrote the book. He and another guy. I was very disappointed.

Oh yes...several sequels that have disappointed me...that and remakes. I didn't even know they were doing a sequel to 30 Days of Night...I would have really been excited about seeing it.

I read and see everything that comes out about vamps that seems realistic and entertaining. The first one was good. I was disappointed by the second Anne Rice movie too. And, down through the years, there have been many sequels that were a real disappointment. Being a writer I like to read the book first and if the movie meets the book on level ground it is a rarity. A sequel is often something I want because I enjoyed the characters, storyline or whatever but they rarely can carry it off.
