have all been ill over christmas with very sore throats, coughs and feeling really tired like we have flu.It is horrid as we could hardly eat our food and then when we did try to eat it we could not really taste it.We have ice cream that tends to get rid of the irratation of a sore throat, but that only helps for a while.

Sorry to hear about that, I hope you get better soon. So you can enjoy New Year's. You can try gargling warm water with salt. I don't know why but it's helped me alot when I had really painful coughs that weren't relieved by cough drops and medicines. Make sure the water is warm. It doesn't need to be too hot. Add in salt and taste if it's salty enough. When you gargle, don't just keep it in your mouth but also let it sit for a few seconds in your throat. It relieves the throat and because the throat is less irritated, the coughing may lessen too. Get well and take care!

syoti hi wlcome to the virus is me club. I have had a cough, sore throat, stuffy nose too started Christmas day and I feel horrid too.but for me cold water stops my throat pain. I am taking extra vitamin c and more orange juice and making myself eat fresh oranges. ibuprofen every six hours and the most helpful thing is real rest, lie down and try to sleep, also keep warm and be patient .this too will pass its just a simple viral cold now if you have a bad headache and ache all over with a fever get to the doctor as thats the flu and you will need some medication from him for that. Most top brands of cough medicine will help your cough, for me I must find cough syrup that has no sugar in it. hope we both get over this bug soon, the cough is the part I hate most.all I have to do is breathe deeply and I start coughing. vitamins specially C hot chicken noodle soup it really works to loosen the phlegm in your throat and the best thing is real rest, lie down and relax, take ibuprofen and try and sleep. hope we both feel more human again soon.

hi syoti20 you can try these home remedies- take a glass of lukewarm water and add 1 teaspoon of salt and gargle for atleast 15 minutes. adding half teaspoon of turmeric powder to it also helps a lot. otherwise you can two drops of Dettol or savlon to a glass of lukewarm water and gargle. mental dental hygiene, brush two times a day and also gargle your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash after ever meal.

haha =D It's easy. Drink more plain water and avoid eating sweet, deep fried stuffs.. lol =D Other than that, have good rest, sleep early, instead of staying up late.. lol =D Your immune system is getting weak and those are the signs of some sickness coming to u.. haha =D Keep it under control before it's too late.. haha

It is best to go see your doctor. Consultation is not that expensive i guess than taking medications that are not suitable to you and may cause even greater harm to your throat. Hope you are fine by now to celebrate New year with a bang! Happy New Year!

It is perhaps a allergic reaction ,which must suit the remedy to the case in the light of the other symptoms such as whether have sore throat or have phlegm .

For short term relief I find that orange juice is very soothing. I don't know why but it works for me.

It could be the common cold, but if you have Asthma and allergies, it could be more than just the common cold. It could be bronchitis, laryngitis, pneumonia, or any kind of throat or respiratory infection. Could require antibiotics.

Hi, You can try a mixture of lemon juice extract with a teaspoon of honey. Take it directly and drink warm water after that. Another tip that can help you is taking garlic supplements. They are very good to beat cough and itchy throat. Don't forget to drink a lot of plain water, preferably warm water. Yes, you have to avoid ice and sea food, but it is only for temporary period of time. I believe you will get better in another week or so.

Gurgle and drink many glass of water. Gurgling a water with salt can kill away that itch in the throat, same is through with a usual mouth wash. Gurgle with vinegar is fine. Water with ginger is good too. Those natural way of treating the itchy throat can likewise be good for cough. Of course, citrus fruits is good, too.

It sounds very much like you have a bad infection in your throat. If you have not already been to the doctor then it would be a good idea for you to do this. If you have already taken medicine from the doctor and it is still there, then maybe you need to go back. When I have some discomfort I just close my eyes and concentrate on it as hard as I can, and after a while it starts to feel more tolerable. When I give something my full attention, then my mind tends to stop getting stressed about it and it makes it a little easier to bear, but infections should always be tended to if they are not going away.. _Derek

Add one tea cup boiled water to one spoon dried basil. close, leave 10 minutes, then drink like tea . only in the mornings, when you just wake up, without eating first. I wish you good health and nice Christmas.
