I guess a lot are already familiar with Gliese 581g. It's an earth look a like planet which has been described as "just the right size and just at the right distance [from its star] to have liquid water on the surface." The funny thing is there are people who are selling a portion of it on ebay. I thought it was a joke, but the link will actually point you out to ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Gliese-581-g-Zarminas-World-Extrasolar-Planet-Property-/150536510033?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item230cacda51 Gliese 581g, is about 20 light years away from earth, so getting there at this time is not yet an option. But would you buy it?

Sure I'll trade you even for the lot on Gliese! You wanna do an even trade? The Lot on Gliese for the London Bridge? Would you take the London Bridge as an even trade?

no not me throw away my moneyh onsomething that would take maybe fifty years to get to? I am 84 so that would let me out. my money is so scarce that I only spend for things I really really need and a lot on a new earth is not a need lol sounds fascinating though for those who love sciene fiction and being explorers.

Well, getting there using the earth's fastest aircraft would take not 50, 100 but 200 years of space travel.

I think the proceeds goes to some charity according to my reading. I think the amount is too little for those who have lots of money. But who knows? what if the planet is really capable of supporting life? land titles are transferable so this would mean that those who purchase is assured that they've got a place to go in the generations to come.
