Don't You Wish You Had Someone to Make You Watch Television?

There's a new "Saturday Night Live" on tonight; I'm probably not going to watch it, because I'd rather spend time with 'my peeps' (that's you all, the closest thing I've got to a 'family at home' ... oh, I've got family in this city; but I'm ALLLLLL ALONE except for myLot, Facebook, and YouTube when my computers not too loaded down). Am I better off like this, or should I be "wishing" I had a family to 'rope me into' fun things?

If your family is experiencing all kinds of fun things then I would allow them to rope you in from time to time. Unlike me who only has the two kids there really is not a family I can get roped in and or due to their horrific dysfunctions their ropes at times get too knotted for my sanity. So if you do have a wonderful and or semi-wonderful, or even a slightly nice family, I would say balance of bit of time and make sure to help with the untying of knots. At any rate thanks for being part of my myLot family.

I just thought of that coz "SNL" was one of my favorite shows to watch with my mom and dad ... it was one of those 'shows I had to be "old enough" before I could stay up and watch' (although my parents usually turned it up loud enough so that I could quote whole skits to them and -my friends the next Monday lol). What do you like to watch with your kids. You ought to have something like that that you and the kids can meditate on together; you'd be surprised how many of those knots disappear when you and they have something better to think about together!

Oh yes we do, I was thinking more like my biological brothers, sisters and "Mother", as I have not had any relationship with them at all. My kids and I gosh, there were things we did like this as I was a stickler for education and TV was something that was ever watched Monday through Thursday, so we spent a great deal of quality time together as well as making sure homework was tended to. I remember Friday's through Sunday, when I did not make excuses to be out in the world to refrain from too much TV, so they would do skits for me of shows we had watched together. Shows like All In The Family, I Love Lucy, and Sanford And Son. Oh gosh when they both use to come to me and say Mom watch this, we laughed so hard and tears of joy would stream from my eyes as they were such great kiddies, not to mention that I am very proud to say I did a wonderful job with them. I also remember guests coming over and they would perform. I remember this one guy cousin said you don't let the kids watch TV Monday through Friday, that is like Child abuse. I nicely explained, child abuse, my kids have been on the honor roll through out all their years of schooling, I take them every where I go and have never been left alone and or with a sitter unless I had to work. They never missed watching TV as they simply knew the rule from day one, as I always paid for them to be educated, never public school. At any rate, do you think this cousin would still say the same while both my kiddies have graduated College.. LOL.. But I do agree with you as just the other day my son was explaining to his girlfriend the wonderful "together" moments we have shared and she could not get over that both my kids belong to me as cough/cough I am too young to have the two and being so beautifully young. I started way too young but made sure that my objectives and priorities were always checked when it came to devoting my Motherly self to them. So all the above will give you an idea how I had to break the vicious and ugly pattern of my biological family.

no not really as I have a roomie who is nuts and making me nuts, My son comes to see me and we both love our computers more than the boob tube. am in a disgustingly tiresome retirement center with no more programs as the garden grove school system felt that since they had to cut back because of funds being cut back, lets get rid of the elderly programs after all why do they need them, . okay so much for what we had and really enjoyed. Now I have my adult soo and my wonderful computer and monitor and my lovely mylot and mylot friends here. I think you are fine there. we all need to learn to like ourselves because ultimately we do have to live with ourselves. lol lol lol

I live far from my family right now. And I do miss them trying to get me to watch those soap operas even though it already irritates me. Right now, I don't even care what the show is as long as I'm with them. :)

They miss you too. Like I said above, you can watch the shows you like and KNOW you're together!
