Smog- its cause and prevention.

In the year of 1952, in London about 4000 people died due of severe fog prevailing over the city as a thick layer for 5 days at a stretch. Later it was discovered that the poisonous gases especially Sulphur –di- oxide emitted from different factories and engines of automobiles got mixed up with the fog and caused the calamity. An English doctor named the mixture of smoke and fog as ‘smog’. There is so far no satisfactory method to control it. A measure suggested for its control is addition of a proper catalyst for complete combustion of the partially combusted fuel gases liberated by the automobiles. Another measure suggested is spray of some specific compounds in the air to prevent the formation of free radicals. Can you suggest any other remedy for its control?

I think what the government is doing now is about what I would suggest. Not sure I would have any magick fixer. The regulation of big factory immissions is the biggy and alot of them are literally getting away with murder. Then the car emmissions is another one and I think they are letting alot of people slide because I see some older cars with bad emmissions.

Yes, I am a doctor although not an allopath but a homeopath, but I don't know how to control smog because it is not my subject. Whatever I heard from others, I have mentioned in my discussion of smog.

The best suggestion that I could even begin to offer to lessen the effects of smog on the world would be that people need to be a lot more careful with the carbon footprint that they are leaving. Our family tends to cut back as much as possible in that way by not taking the car out all the time and also by keeping lights off in rooms when we are not using them. These are really small things that we are doing, but if everyone was to do that, I think it would make a tremendous difference.

All have to do their part in perseverance as customers we need to help and do our part with recycling and such. As manufacturers they too need to do their part in manufacturing natural resources as well.

hi doctordidi for years here in the US big companies have been told ways to prevent their smoke stacks from spewing toxic chemicals into the foggy air and a lot of them did use the apparatuses that stopped those noxious chemicals from being spewed into the air.If these devices were used by all factories spewing out crap that would help a lot then also if people would use city buses and not drive all day all the time a lot of poisonous gases would be lessened in the air too.
