What is your fitness routine? What do you do for exercise, to stay fit? I'm trying to lose (a lot) of weight, but can't afford a gym membership, and don't have exercise equipment at home. I'm trying to find things to do at home, that takes no money, in order to lose weight. I go walking a lot, and use my wii fit which we've had for a couple of years now.

Hi My fitness routine essentially revolves around two factors - healthy diet and daily exercise. Exercise: I make sure I walk for at least 1 hour daily, however busy my schedule is. I take stairs instead of lift, and when I go for shopping, I park my car at one place and then walk my way to the various shops. I have 4 dogs, and all of them need to go for their daily walks - I take them out two at a time. I have my dumbbells and bull-worker, and I ensure that I do strength training at least 3 times in a week. I also try to practice at least 10 Suryanamaskar (Sun salutation) - a type of power yoga, everyday. Diet: I ensure my diet contains plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products; includes moderate amounts of lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts; and is low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars.

I am trying to lose some weight..But I have no routine down as of right now. Usually when it's not so cold out I'll go walking & running about 3 miles a day (depending on the weather of course) but otherwise, I don't have a gym membership so it's dfeinitely hard to find ways to exercise. I try to do at-home DVDs once or twice a week. I should probably step it up if I actually want to see results though

I have some dvds too, but since my husband lost his job a year ago he's always watching the tv and I can't get him to let me use it. He's always after me to diet and lose weight, but doesn't seem very willing to help in any shape form or fashion.

I hike, strength train, do Pilates. I don't belong to a gym either, but I do have various weights, resistance bands, a stability ball at home. I've collected equipment over the years to add to my home gym. I cannot afford expensive equipment such as treadmills and elliptical machines, but I do have a mini-trampoline, slideboard, a step, and an incline bench I was once given as a Christmas gift. There are plenty of work-outs you can do without equipment. Do a search or go to youtube for some fitness videos or demonstrations. For example: Bodyweight Exercise for Home Fitness: http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/tipsandtricks/a/basictraining.htm At-home with No Equipment Workout: www.acefitness.org/workouts/13/#program And keep walking and using your wii fit!

I do yoga and pilates, and I go to the gym sometimes too. And I also have a stationary bike at home, but sadly I have to admit I don't use it as often as I probably should...

I have a Tony Little's Gazelle machine that a neighbor gave us when she moved, and I pretty much never use it. I'm saving up for a treadmill, but since the cheapest one I've found in town is 400 that could take a while.

You can try biking, it's cheap and fun too. Or if you want to spend your energy you can try swimming or play football. From all of the sports, the best one was done by you, that's walking and number two is running, especially fun in the morning under a fresh sunlight touching.

Biking is good and cheap, but I'd have to have a bike, and bikes are not cheap at all. lol I do a lot of walking. I can jog for short periods, but as overweight as I am, running isn't an option for me at this point. I have thought of trying to run a 5k if/when I ever reach my goal weight.

I know from experience that losing weight is an ongoing battle. After 30 years of fighting with it I have come to the conclusion that you need to work out what motivates you to stick to a routine. It might be working for a treat - If I do my workouts 4 times a week I can .... what ever motivates you. I have also found that you need to set small goals and reward yourself for achieving them - and I don't mean food rewards! The other factor that I think is important is diet. I know there is a heap out there about diet but I believe that you need to establish first if you are food intolerant. I have done a lot of reading on this and it seems that it can effect the way that your body deals with food. If you are intolerant to certain foods ( not allergic)then it can affect your moods, stress level , energy level and a whole range of emotional things. If your mind and emotions are not functioning well it is hard to stick to a routine of weight loss. There are heaps of exercise and diet programs out there and it is about finding the one that works for you. You don't need a heap of equipment to do this at home. A couple of cans of baked beans can work as weights just as well! I know what you mean about your Wii. I have one also and I have trouble using it because my elderly mother, who lives with me, is visually impaired and has her armchair right up to the TV so for me to use it I have to move her chair and put it back after - too much effort for a regular exercise program! Good luck with your wieght loss and don't give up there is always a way!
