I am an extrovert person. I have a sunny disposition always and is talkative. I couldn’t be with a person in 15 minutes without talking to her . But my daughter is not a bit like me. She is not talkative at all. She would talk only when I would tell her to share stories or when I ask her. We get along fine though, but how I wish she could be as talkative as me.

My mm is a bit like you too- really talkative, especially when she's with her friends, she talks almost non-stop. I am not so talkative like your daughter, only when I'm with really close people. My mom was like me when she was my age.

I think being talkative also comes with age.

I think that's just natural. When a parent is talkative(or loud), the children tends to be the opposite way. Sometimes the parent/s take care of the talking in any situation, that the child need not talk anymore. I've been know to be quiet too. And my mom was the talkative type.

Maybe growing up with one so talkative she has convinced herself that she has nothing to say. This has nothing to do with what you are doing but maybe it's turned out this way. Encourage her to talk. Question her around others so she has to voice her opinion. Value her opinion. At the point when they are always hearing her over you, you probably won't have to say anymore. It's going to take a bit of work though to get there. She's had years of practice the other way.

I think she's slowly opening up. We have been away from each other for how many years when she was growing up during her elementary years, so i think she grew aloof to me. We see each other on vacations only, when she and her father comes to the far-away place where i work. But now, since 6 years ago, that i have found a job at our place , she has slowly opened up again to me. So maybe that's why she's not talkative to me. Thanks for sharing.
