I like to eat my meals with rice instead of potatoes (as is traditional in my country), but I don't know many meals that would go well with rice. Anything you can recommend?

rice is always included in our meals as it has been a tradition here in our country, a staple meal that has been in our table since time immemorial. there are so many meals that blends with rice, but i would recommend grilled fish, meat or chicken.

Then you are very welcome in our country (Philippines). Rice is serve in main dishes here and there are so many variety of viands to go with it. Our native food would probably affirm to your taste. I could suggest some meals but they are mostly native or local dishes so you wouldn't probably know them anyway. In case you do want to search online for some recipes, try searching for Filipino dishes. Good luck and bon appetit!

hi calajane..... you can make salad from rice. my turkish friends always make it for their dinner. i eat rice because it is my prime food. actually i donot like rice salad but maybe you can try to make. i am not used to eat rice salad. it is the step to make it: the first you clean the rice and then cook it. after that add some salt, pepper, olive oil, some vegetables such as tomato, paparika, corn, bean, etc, and donot forget to add tomato pasta. mix it and it is ready to serve. it is easy and it will go well with every food. good luck

Thanks a lot for this! I will definitely check it out and see how it tastes . I'm not sure about the salad, but only because I don't really like salad.

How about rice and black beans added to fajitas! How about rice with sauteed onions, and garlic! I also add rice to soup, and I include it as a side dish to all chicken, and steak dishes. Rice is universal, the only meal rice doesn't fit well with is breakfast (just my opinion).

I can recommend you very popular meal in Serbia, it's actually a meal with the Turkish origin. It's called sarma. This is what you need to prepare it: minced meat, rice, onions, cabbabe, then of course salt and pepper. I hope you will enjoy it.

Almost any meal can be served with rice rather than potatoes. Anything that has a sauce - stews, hotpots or grilled meat served with a sauce - is particularly suitable because the sauce flavours the rice and the rice helps one eat the sauce. If the rice seems rather plain, try cooking it with some diced vegetables (green beans, diced carrot or sweet corn are particularly good) or look for a recipe for egg fried rice or 'jewelled' rice.

In my native country, Rice is the staple mean (like how Pasta is the staple of Italy) So here are ways that we cook it. We use lots of vegetables and normally cut up the vegetables (pumpkin, egg plant, cabbage, spinach etc) and cook it together with meat (either chicken, beef or pork) and make what we call a stew. It goes wonderfully with rice. You can also use chicken, fish, beef or shrimp and make curries that goes greta with rice as well. There is one special meal we make called "cook-up" that included, rice, peas and meat all cooked together with coconut milk. If you need receipes just let me know and I will be happy to share some

In many countries rice is the basic in almost every meal every day. Sometimes i add a potatoe to the rice. There are many asian dishes you can fix with rice.

Besides using rice to go along something else (such a veggie stir fry, a stew or a piece of meat or fish cooked in any way you wish, I use rice for paellas and risottos. That means mixing the rice with the rest of the ingredients. I suggest you check recipes at a search engine. Ilike risottos for visitors as you can make quantities and they are much apreciated. Take care!

I make chicken and rice. I also saw a commercial where someone buys beef stew and pours it over rice. Any kind of beef goes well with rice as well as fish. I do not buy rice often because my husband is not a big rice eater.

There are many curries that go well with rice. If you want me to give you the recipes for any vegetable you can write to me and I will let you know the way it is prepared. I am from south India and our staple food is rice. Hence, I know most of the curries that go well with rice.

I love rice. I sometimes steam black, brown and red rices together. It's good with beans mixed in....especially black beans. I add onions, peppers, lots of garlic. Sometimes tofu. Anything goes with rice....yummy!

We sometimes have it with fish. We spice the rice the way we want and put the fish right on top of it. Another thing that taste good is having it as a side dish and mix originell rotell with it or use it instead of noodles to make something like spaghetti.
