I use Norton. There are many different Norton products that all do different things. Just use the one that's right for you. The only problem is that Norton is a tad expensive, so it's only a good choice if you don't mind spending the money.

My daughter's BF is in the trade and he loaded us all up with Panda. It's reasonably priced, even with all the extras. Only problem is, it can slow down your system when it updates itself, but it won't let anything through. Best I've used so far.

The two that i would recommend depend on how much you are willing to pay. If you are willing to pay for your antivirus protection, i recommend norton antivirus. I prefer it to mcaffee, but i havent used kaplinshki or whatever the russian one is called. If you dont want to have to pay, check out AVG. THey offer free antivirus protection, which is actually good enough provided you dont download lots of things from dodgey sources, or visit lots of dodgey web pages. It includes a free virus scanner, and a firewall, and an update manager, but you need to pay for some of the other features if you want to upgrade. Hope this helps

I would still go with McAfee if you are just using a home computer. It is very easy to configure in case that you have problems with internet access or anything to that effect. I tried Norton before, well it is good although very expensive.

Antivirus software is must-have protection. This review picks the best antivirus software for Windows based in part on comprehensive antivirus testing performed by AV-Test. Because every system is unique, you may want to evaluate several of these choices before making your final decision. AV-Test results are based on performance in the second quarter of 2010 on Windows 7 (32-bit version). A total of 19 scanners were included in the AV-Test analysis. Full test results can be viewed at AV-Test.org Some choices listed below were not included in the AV-Test analysis. Last updated: August 2010. . 1. Norton Internet Security Symantec's antivirus products have historically always provided excellent detection and removal of malware. On the downside, that protection came at the price of often crippling system performance. That's now a thing of the past. Performance overhauls were the hallmark of Norton Internet Security 2009, and enhancements continued in the 2010 product line. I would recommend Eset Antivirus(nod32 the same) or bitdefender. Those two are currently at the top of the list in the antivirus community. Avoid buying norton its as safe as eset and bitdefender but it makes your pc slow I mean superslow.

3 years I've been using esset smart security and it is protecting my computer from all kinds of viruses. you should try it because esset very easy to use, its memory usage is very small and easy to update the virus data.

For the last couple of months, I have used Microsoft Security Essentials and find it does the job without slowing down my computer. Especially, on my Netbook. And of course..it is free :-)
