With the economy in the state that it is many businesses, both small mom and pop stores, restaurants, and large chain stores and restaurants are having to close. Do you have a favorite or favorites of yours that have had to close, if so what were they?

They're closing the Borders book store here. We don't have any good bookstores any more and with nearly a hundred thousand people in this town, you'd think we could support one good one. There have been other closings, but this one is the worst for me.

Yes, our favorite Mexican restaurant just went out of business. I feel very sad about this. We became very familiar with the owners of the restaurant. They were always so kind and the food was excellent. They just couldn't bring in the business. They did everything they could. It was a family run business and they were just really nice people. I will miss them and the restaurant.

As we travel different places we get really attached to different little restaurants or cafes. It seems like every trip we make anywhere, another eatery has closed. So it is just not any one in particular.

My home country's government are on a massive saving strategy at the moment because there is less money available. They want to close the beloved central library. It is a beautiful looking historical building and many people are very cross that the council plan to close it. They want to put library in the drab looking town hall. A couple of years ago one of my favorite shops closed: Woolworths. I was ever so upset about that. Many other shops have closed due to the recession.
