Matt is second to be banished at Redemption Island..

This is really sad for me since I really like Matt. I do not understand the logic behind Rob's angst over his move to shake hands with the other tribe after the end of the challenge. I think it only shows good sportsmanship, which reveals so much about Rob's character. You can be competitive while being a good sport at the same time. As for his "alliance" with Andrea, that might be one reason to get rid of him, but I don't think it is a smart move. I fear that it will cause the team to weaken and continue losing more challenges in the future, but that's how Rob chooses to play this game. Let's see if it works out for me.. Another thing that makes me sad is that two of my faves - Francesca and Matt - are going head to head in Redemption Island. I don't want either of them to go for good :( What are your thoughts on Episode 2?

I actually just got done watching the episode because it was preempted in our area yesterday for a silly basketball game. That said, I was also shocked at Rob's reaction to him shaking hands with the other team. I grew up playing sports and we always had to go congratulate the other team when we were beat. It was simply a part of good sportsmanship. I don't know what else is going to happen in this season, but I must admit that I hope the other team loses the next immunity challenge simply because I would like to see how things shake out.

I agree. Why was he making such a big deal over the fact that they shook hands? I think that Rob is just being too guarded this time out because this is his fourth shot at playing and he wants to win badly. As for Matt, I think he could have really offered a lot to the team, especially if they wanted to start winning these challenges. If he really wanted to break up that budding romantic alliance, then it would have been smarter to get rid of Andrea. But in the end, I am just sad that Matt had to go this early. One of those moments when you are thankful that there's redemption island. In the preview, even Francesca herself is shocked that it was Matt who got voted off.

PRobably he choose Matt over the girl as he can play the girl. Most likely he wouldn't be that sucessful at "playing" Matt. Plus, Matt is more a physical threat to Rob than the girl is.

True. Matt would be a lot more difficult to control, plus he can play the game on his own. Not like most of the girls who will most likely depend on a strong alliance to get to the end.

I am sorry, I do not watch the show, but it sounds very interesting. Maybe I will start watching it, those kinds of shows are always fun to see.

Check it out. It has been a little boring the last few seasons...in my opinion anyway. But this season...boy that first episode had me laughing through the whole thing! It has goods and bads. and this season with redemption island...that is totaly new to the show.

Yes, it hasn't been as good as the survivor that I have loved. But i have managed to stay tuned still. There are one or two interesting characters since but the rest hasn't really stepped up t the plate. I suggest you watch it though, it is pretty interesting once you get started.

So far, "good sportsmanship" and Survivor have never met, so why should they this season? They don't even get along within their own team, why should they get along with the other team? I think he was only doing that to pave the way for himself hoping he will be there when merge time comes around and get in "good" with players from the other team that also make the merge. But for anyone to be offended by that..I have to agree with Rob. Right now...his team is who he should be loyal to and shaking hands with. Good grief, he goes and congratulates the other team...and says nothing to his own that lost? And both teams just fight and bicker and back stab amongst themselves so sportsmanship doesn't really have a place in the game. I don't like it that they keep bringing back previous players, especially repeatedly bringing back the same ones. But this time...I have to wonder... is Rob playing the game to actually be a player and hopefully win? or is he just there to pull strings, stir things up or show some strategy...knowing he won't be in the final 3? Maybe he is a decoy to energize the game! That'd be cool! And I think it is priceless that Ralph (was that his name?) found the hidden idol and Russell hasn't a clue yet that it has been found! I just hope Ralph has hidden it in a good place where Russ won't find it.

Could have been either way...only Matt knows! But this is Survivor...EVERYTHING counts. Suspicion is first and foremost in most minds. Yeah, Rob has lost 3 times...why do they keep bringing him back? Hasn't Russ lost as many? I don't get why those two. no body ever likes them. THis time tho...as Russ plays as usual, I seem to see some more strategic movements from Rob...like he is instructing the others on how to win as oppose to trying to win himself. Usually he annoys me, but this time....so far...he seems to be a bit helpful and strategic...might be for interesting season!

I don't think we should go as far as that, I mean I;m pretty sure that this is just part of Matt's nature. It has nothing to do with the game. But still, this is a game of survivor and some castaways will try to magnify the little actions that you do and use it against you. It might be a simple gesture on Matt's part, but it cost him the game especially since Rob is one who isn't going to let it slip past his notice. But the analysis of that mere handshake as something strategic is over-reading, I guess. But that is your opinion and I will respect that... hehehe I just hate the idea of ROb being so cocky just because he is playing with the "amateurs". I don't get how someone who has lost the game 3 times think he is so good at playing this game!

I don't get the big deal either. What's wrong with showing a little sportsmanship? Are they perhaps worried that he's trying to forge a relationship with the members of the other tribe (pre-merge)?

This is Survivor....sportsmanship doesn't exist!

I think more of the latter, Dawn. If that is the case, Rob is playing too hard too early. I don't think Matt meant anything more than to congratulate the other team for the win with that gesture. Rob is just paranoid. I can't wait for him to be sent to redemption island too.

Likable Nice person=Jury threat Between Matt and Franchesca, I will choose Franchesca to stay because she is more entertaining, plus I think Matt is one of those contestants who didnbt audition, He is most likely recruited while buying stuff at the Santa Monica Branch of Whole foods or Lynn Spillman just casted him because he is a good looking guy.

True. But I am only outraged by this because I like Matt.. and to be honest, I don't care whether Matt is a recruit or not, but I would rather see him go further in this game than for ROb to go all the way to the end. I mean, he's had his shot three times before, let the new players do their thing.

I think you were outraged cux you lost your eye canday, it happens to ma a lot when the hottest woman gets voted off early. I almost quit last season after losing my eye candy Brenda. But I realized Holly is not that bad for her age.
