Do you sleep with you cat?

February 27, 2011 7:33am CST
I've known someone who can't sleep without her pet, a cat beside her. So, I come up with a question if do you want or let your pet sleep beside you? It's not a bad thing, but I was thinking what if your pet is a snake and you let the snake sleep with you, that can be a bit scary..lol What do you think?

Zeebaw - Cat sleeping on bed with my parents.
I have a cat and his name is Zeebaw, he is very nice to everyone but he just need to sleep in bed just like all of us, he will never be sleeping in his basket while we are sleeping on our bed, he will come around to see if he can get in too and then he will slowly comes to our feet and sleep soundly. He is very cute and he will never be troubling you at night. He usually sleeps in the room of my parent now as Zeebaw is very much attached to my mother.

Well we do not mind at home but actually I am afraid for later on as my partner does not like cat at all, he despise the pet and says that we get asthma from cats, he just cannot see one around, once I had a talk with him about rearing a cat when we will live together he laugh and said that the joke was very good so I understood that no cat in our home later.

Umm..too bad for you because I am sure you will surely missed your cat, If your partner don't have any allergy to pet then I am sure you can still have your Zeebaw and I am sure later on he will learn to love and appreciate your pet. Who knows!

Wow! I like the picture of your cat Zeebaw, thanks for sharing the picture. Ah...she seems like a human and you treat him that way, I never have that kind of cat, as sweet as yours. I do have a friend who have a cat who can't sleep being alone, so she needs to have some company and my friend loves her so much so they often sleep together and glad that she's still single.lol So it's alright no ones mind having her pet. Anyway, thanks for the comment.

I've got seven cats and they pretty well sleep wherever thay want to. I usually have two or three sleeping on the bed every night. I don't mind, if I did, I'd shut them out. But I have never done that ever.
28 Feb 11
Yes, and I've got nothing but photos of cats on my profile

Having seven cats, wow! that's plenty. I only have 2 cats and they're very cute and cuddly as well. Umm... you must be a real cat lover as it even shown on your avatar.:-) Anyway, thanks for the comment.

My pet cat slept at the foot of my bed. He would sneak up towards the head of the bed after I fell asleep...He was supposed to sleep at the foot of the bed because I'm actually allergic to them...they get my sinuses really bad...but He was worth all the kleenex. :)

i don't think i want to have snake as a pet. i just let them sleep in their place. i like to sleep all alone. someone or something sleeping beside me can really disturb me
1 Mar 11
The same thing with me as well. I find it hard to sleep if there's someone beside me that's not human.:-) And to think of snake, wow! that scares the whole lot of me. Or even having something fury when I reach or feel in my skin makes me awake. Thanks for the comment

all four of my cats and both of my dogs usually end up sleeping with me in my bed sometimes even the foster cats get in as well its a good size bed and way to big for me on my own plus the added heat and warmth in the winter is extreamly relaxing. They are all free of bugs and worms so I see no reason not to let them in the bed as long as they dont bug me and find there own spots to settle down. my one cat quite often sleeps in my arms at night as well its like having a living teddy bear to sleep with at night

it is a nice feeling to have them with me. Where i live it is illegal to leave your cats with worms or bugs and not get them treated by a vet its considered suffering to allow them to live with either worms or bugs for any length of time and if you are found to do so your animals can be removed, could be charged and see jail time, a fine and/or a ban on owning animals in the future

I think the better question in my instance is; does your cat sleep with you? My cat pretty much sleeps where she wants. Cats are like that, you know. They don't ask permission, they just do. My cat has a special pillow on my bed that is her bed. At various times I may wake and find that she has transferred to the floor or even into another room. She is a house cat. Doesn't go outside. Doesn't have bugs or fleas so I do not worry about getting any varmits from her. My cat is cleaner that peoples' children.
28 Feb 11
Ah, yeah, that's supposed to be the right question that I have use and anyway thanks for the suggestions. Well it's great that your cat is real clean and smells good. When it comes to cat one thing that I don't like is the furs as its inevitable that it's left anywhere they stay, but the rest I love everything about it. Your cat must be real cute. Anyway, thanks for the comment

My cat alway wants to sleep with me when it's cold.I don't mind if he wants because he never goes out and is very clean!
28 Feb 11
It's a good thing that you don't mind your cat sleeping with you. Ah..it can be real pity for her, during winter season. And that's so kind and loving of you. So it's kinda alright..Me there's no winter season in my country. Anyway,Thanks for the comment.

When I go visit my grandmother, her cat always sleep with me, day or night, always come and sleep next to me. He like when I nurse his belly.. And then cat loud mura location... yea and I love this feeling, when my lovely cat sleeping next to me and mura location!!! He is my best little frend, who always make me happy :)

It's good to know that your grandmother has a cat because it will give her comfort. As in your part it makes you happy. My grandmother don't really like having a pet at home and don't even like having a cat because she didn't want to have any disturbance at home, which I disagree.

i dont like to sleep with cats.i hate pets
28 Feb 11
Oh, why you hate pets? Having a pet is a good thing as it gives you some sort of company and a feeling of security especially when you get older. Just a simple thought. Thank you for the comment.

my cat also has the habit of sleeping with me, it's natural that the cat likes to sleeps with his owner.
3 Mar 11
It's true, cats always love being with his master and especially when it comes to sleeping and that's what I also love about the cat. I have know someone who has like 5 cats sleeping with her and some even sleep on her tummy and others were on her head or foot. And I was thinking, wow! she's still able to sleep and don't feel like being disturb especially when the cat is awake and moving.

All of my cats become very attracted to my bed as soon as they are big enough to jump up. They do it automatically as soon as they see me lying down. I love it! Except I have to fight with them to get down when it is time to fix the bed.

I have two she-cats at home. Sometimes they like to sleep in my bed, but they mostly sleep on their own on some sofa or even a cupboard. When it is warm outside, they sleep in the yard. It seems they come to sleep in my bed when the weather is not so warm. I love cats.

well of course it depends on what kind of pet you have. If its a dog or cats then lots of pet owners let their pets stay with them.

It is normal for a person to sleep with cats or dogs but not snake. My pet dog sometimes come to my room and sleep at the foot of my bed.

I don't have a pet anymore, but I used to always sleep with my cat in the bed. About the snake, depending on what kind, I think it would be a lot more scary for the snake than the person sleeping in the same bed, but yes I get what you mean. I would only really want another mammal to share the bed with me. They are the cuddliest.

Hello, I slept with my cat when I was young. But I tamed it so that it just slept on the lower end of the bed next to my feet. I was afraid that I could inhale the fur of the cat. But as time passed I stopped this practice of sleeping with my pets. I would rather sleep with my wife.

I have had both cats and dogs as pets, and yes they slept with me. They were inside pets and they were very clean. I am not a snake person and would never dream of sleeping with one. But who is to say that someone who loves snakes feels the same as we do about our cats or dogs.
