So last night we had a gettogether at my friend´s house so that I could meet the other people we´ll be going to Aruba with. I AM scared. I know I will get along fine with my friend but I´m not so sure that I will manage with the others. This is the first time I travel with people that I dont know. They seem nice. I did say that we didn´t have to go together everywhere and that we should all have our spaces. Noone is interested in cooking and I don´t mind that part, but I will not wash dishes or do other chores I don´t like. On the other hand, if that doesn´t work, I will not eat out fastfood. They can do as they wish but my stomach does not agree with that. Pleasesend good energy. Am I scared without cause? Am I just being a witch? What do you think? How should I act. They are all younger than I, but I worry about the older one.

You have been to beautiful Aruba a number of times so you will be able to offer advice about the best places to see there. I think that that you are being very sensible to plan what is going to happen chore wise on the trip. I know that you will do well cooking the food. Of course it isn't healthy to eat out at fast food joints. If some of them go to a fast food place you could do something different. I think that you will all get on really well together and the age range will not be likely to matter. I think that the way that you are feeling is totally understandable. Hugs for you my dear friend.

I know that. I am really worried about a 50ish year old lady (one of my friend´s mom) who is coming along. Fortunatly mother and daughter couldn´t go on the same week. She seems to have all the answers and I hope we won´t clash in just one week.

I never thought of you thinking of those things...hahaha... With your personality, I think you will do just great. I am pretty sure they will enjoy your company being the veteran and the most experienced or most traveled among the group. I tell you. They will adore you after your trip!!! hahaha... Take care and bring me some souvenirs. lol...

Thanks, doggy. But I think that you should think beforehand all the possibilities if you want to have fun while you are there. I think I won´t have any problen with the young people but Iñm a bit worried about a 50ish year old lady. I seemed to feel that she had all the answers when I met her.

First let me apologize..no notifications of discussions yesterday! I hear you, and your concerns, possibly some of them are founded on the fact that this is a new experience (travelling with a group) BUT watching your pliability and diplomacy here on the "Lot"...I think your trip, due to your good spirit will be wonderful! I think you should just be you, and the younger one's will love ya' just the way you are! Will miss you whilst you're gone..but have a spectacular trip! Cheers!

I hope you are right. I have traveled with other people, but always with people I know. I do know my friend and she´s staying the two weeks. But the other two people are completly unknown to me. I´m afraid I´m not as pliable as you think. I hope noone is the kind of person who won´t spend an extra dime to have a bit of fun. THAT, I can´t stand!

Avoid the stuff you aren't comfortable with. You will be fine...

I will try to avoid getting into arguments. Not worth at vacations. We don´t have to be together all day. All we need to do is to sleep in the same place.

I know when I traveled with other people that I barely knew, I just went with the flow. We went to a touristy city in China and did all kinds of things. They were about 20 years older than me and I let them do all the planning. We ate out all the time, but it was always Chinese food, not western food so it was all right. Evenings I stayed in a different hotel than they did so we did have our space then. You should do what feels right when you get there. Maybe spend a little time with the others if you all want to see the same things, but if you have no interest in one of their stops then go your own way. I hope that helps.

THey all know each othr. I´m the outsider and only really know one of them (she´s friends with the rest). But the timeshare is mine although I will not impose my ways. But I will say from the begining that we don´t have to go everywhere in a group. I will NOT go to dance salsa but I´ll love to go to a casino

I wouldn't mind joining you at the casino! I don't think I would want to dance salsa either since I don't like to dance for the most part anyway.

I think it's good that you keep it straight with them. Then there wouldn't be any confusion and people can proceed at that. How long are you going to be traveling for?

I´ll go for 2 weeks. The common factor will be my friend /she´s staying the 2 weeks) and the other 2 people will be different ones. I know how to proceed when I´m alone but I hope I will not clash with the older person in the second week.

I´m not worried at all about the girl that got killed there. Everywhere people get killed everyday if you don´t do as romans do. I have been to Aruba several times alone and nothing has happened. Arubians are awesome. I´m worried about having frictions with the people in my group.

Ohhhhhhhhh Marguicha!! I hope that everything was fine in your trip by now. Let me tell you that if God allows it to me I´ll be traveling alone to Portugal, to Fatima, on May. I´m in México... I am just so scared as I think you were!! I can feel it in my backbone. Everything is so easy... I must meet a Nun on Fátima... Mex-plane-Lisbon-Fatima (Nun)-Lisbon-plane-Home... ah just a week. Tell me how was your trip? Any advice! Blessings!... Dainy

Sounds like you are doing all the right pre-planning! I am sure with your wonderful outgoing personality you will do just fine and in fact you will be the life of the trip. I am with you, if they want to eat out all the time that is your time to do your thing and cook and or do whichever you please as take out is not always a good thing on my stomach either. If they do not do their own dishes, let them know right away on the first experience as being courteous the first time may mean they may want to take advantage. Gosh marguicha, I am getting jealous by the day, but I am so glad you are are going on your wonderful trip. Can I go?? I promise to do my own dishes too.

Geez, gurl! Start saving your online earnings and we can have a vacation together next year. No McDonalds, I promise. I´m worried because they are so young. But I think that the person that worries me is the eoldest of them
