Each time I hear the term comfort food, I get puzzled. I never feel comfort from food. I Have to feel comfortable enough to eat or I don't eat. I do have my favorite meal but if I am upset about something I won't be able to eat it. So I ask you . Are you the type that can find comfort in food or are you like me and you have to be comfortable enough to eat?

When I'm upset, stressed, or depressed, I make a beeline to my stash of Hershey's Dark Chocolate or the Pepperidge Farm Chocolate Fudge 3-Layer cake I keep in constant supply at the bottom of the fridge. Always does the trick.

I couldn't do that. If I am stressed the Last thing I can think about is eating yet alone something sweet.

Food to me,most of the time is,comfort. I can eat it food anywhere. I doesn't matter. I don't have to be comfortable when I eat. I also eat becuase I get hungry! I am having health issues. It probaly has to do with my weight and age. I have seen a doctor and I need to have a colonastomy. I don't think anything is wrong but the doctor wants to do it. I have a history of colon cancer in my family! I am worried but we will see in 2 weeks if anything is wrong! Food is so much of my life and giving some of it is hard! getting older sucks and beibg obese!

I know what you mean If I am really rattled, I find it hard to eat. As for comfort food, when I am not upset, just frustrated, I'd be lying if I said that a nice big piece of baklava didn't cheer me up. :)

Frustrated or upset , the first thing that leaves me is the ability to eat. I once was so upset I didn't eat for 36 hours! Funny , I can't remember whay I was so upset, lol!

I'm not sure that I have a confort food. There are certain things that I like to eat at certain times but not because I am sad or something. I am like you when I am upset or stressed. I tend not to eat as much.

I've also seen these things which people label as 'comfort food'. But it never really registers on me. When I'm upset, I'm upset. I wouldn't be able to do anything, let alone eat. When I decide to go drinking, then maybe that's when I think about eating, as I hate drinking on an empty stomach.

It really does depend on the situation that I get comfort from food. In situations that I am really mildly upset and I need something to really get my spirits up, there is a lot of good food out there that can help me. Like chocolate and chocolate, oh and chocolate and also raisins, oh and yeah chocolate as well. Seriously that is my idea of a comfort food. However, there are a lot of times where my stomach is rather twisted and turned for a lot of reason. Therefore while there is a lot of comfort food out there, if the situation is so bad, there is really no comfort that food can bring me. At least that is how I see the situation a lot of the time. Still comfort foods are a rather wonderful thing, but it does vary upon the situation.
