I am an Indian citizen living in the city of Kolkata. Can you suggest an ideal time, preferably Indian time for me to start a new discussion in mylot so that it can easily come into the view of maximum number of mylotters who have selected those topics of my discussions in mylot as ‘my interests’?

It's 10:37PM in India. Where I am, it's 12:07PM. Users here are from all over the world, so there will never be an ideal time to start a discussion. Since you're on my friend's list, I know each time you start a discussion, and that helps you to get a response from me. But not everyone is on your list, so that makes posting more difficult. Given the time differences, the west coast is 3 hours behind me, Hawaii is 4 hours behind me, but other places are ahead of me in time. For you though, I'd think that posting something in 6-12 hours would be ideal. Use my references to give you an idea of where people are and what time it is where they are. You may find that posting in the middle of the night will work, just after you get up in the morning, or just before you go to bed at night. It all depends on timing. You'll figure it out I'm sure though.

Hi kris182_2000, thanks a lot for the responses you always try to give after my each posting and should try to follow your advice.

Well, I am not an Indian citizen, but I have done a lot of experimentation as to when the best time to start a discussion is so that it will have the most responses. The conclusion that I've come to with experimenting with this is that there really is not an ideal time to start a discussion. If the content of the discussion is something that a lot of people are interested in, then they will respond to the discussion no matter what time you started the discussion.

hi doctordidi from what I have learned the best time is in the early morning so people can see them by the time they get home from work or can do some mylotting before leaving to their jobs. So early monrning in Indian time is one good suggesgtion.

You do not need to post a discussion on a specific time because people use internet all time in twnety four hours, while you are sleeping we use it here and vise versa for me so people use interent every hour. Just post your discussion. People tend to look out for their interest so make sure you post interesting discussion that will attrack user or mylotters to your discussions.

Did you time this discussion? I doubt so, right? Come on, the best time to start a discussion is NOW. When you have something fresh in your head, start it. Why wait until the perfect time to realize you might have forgotten what you want to start in the first place? When that happens, you might find that your best time might be the best time to bang your head against the wall to get the idea out. Hahaha....no offense.

I think is better to have something importend to say and to start a discoussion with a very good topic. In this case is't important the time.

Assuming that many are American and they have day jobs, the best time to post in between 7pm-9pm Eastern Standard time U.S. about 5:30am or so today. But we are changing our clocks this weekend. I guess 6:30am your time is best.

Hi DoctorDidi, I really do not see a correlation as to when it is the right time. What I do see if that if members interact with their discussion more frequently that they continue to come up on the recent tab and hence cause more and more members to view the discussion. If the discussion does not get activity it continues to be drown way below deep into the pages. Once another member responds it moves way back up. I would suggest to you that you make a bit more effort and respond more to them and you will be surprised. I get anywhere between 50 to 70 responses in my discussions and it amazes me that when a new response comes it several follow. Hope this helps.

No problem about the time, I've seen your many discussion title, my suggestion is lessen your discussion started just focus on two or three topics, on that case you will put you effort to make your discussion quality. Then if somebody response, comment them back on a quality and fun response. Even a week or month your dicussion still active depends on the mylotters who wants to response from your discussion if they are convince about your discussion.. so the buttom line is quality and response back to all responders.. see you around

I'd say if the content is interesting then time does not matter. I check the top discussions first and pick the ones that I seem to like and respond. I also go through the discussion in my interest and pick the ones that are interesting and where I know that I can provide some decent feedback that the dicsussion starter can utilize I get involved. So, content is the key!

Ya that would take some major research I would assume. If you add friends that have the same interests as you and go to the discussions your friends started this will help get you hooked in with people who will respond and like your discussions.
