A couple of weeks ago I ordered something kind of strange on eBay... A TASER. I live in kind of a big city with a bit of crime and I often find myself walking in dark parking lots, or even walking leisurely at night. I used to have pepper spray but decided to upgrade a bit to something a little more powerful.. I have never been mugged but I have been given a hard time (especially by men) and have felt threatened before so I figured why not. Do you have any self defense items? Pepper spray, a taser, a rape whistle, etc? Have you ever had to use it?

I do not have any of that and am glad I have never been in the situation where I've felt seriously threatened to the point of needing to do so. If I did need something I would most likely get a taser as well because that would stun the person and leave a mark wherein pepper spray just burns and can be washed out.

It can also kill them. I am glad I am not in a situation where I think I would ever need one. The taser doesn't stun, it hurts like hell and means for a few seconds they have trouble moving. It might gve you a chance to get away.

I don't have anything, but I think it is a good idea for you! Specially if you have some dark parking lots that you go to after work. Life is a bit difficult these days, and you don't always know what others are prepared to do to get by. I wish that you'll always be safe. And that if you get into any kind of trouble, don't hesitated to taser their azzes off!

i live in NYC, and i don't live in the best of neighborhoods. i have never carried anything for "Protection" not because i don't think anything can happen to me, but because i just never thought i needed it. i say if it makes you feel more comfortable then go for it

No I don't have any self defense items to protect me. I guess I would have to use my screams because here in Illinois although we would be defending ourselves it would be considered illegal and if the attacker gets hurt we could be charged and sued. But if an attacker was attacking me, charges and law suits would not be concern so I suppose if I felt the need I would get something too, because I could deal with a charge and or law suit but could not later deal with being victimized.
