Some religions preach that to eat blood is prohibited by God as written in the Bible and yes it's right there including strangled animals and meat offered to idols or false gods (15:29) . I invite everyone to post there comments. Thank you.

Yes I eat the blood pudding that is an important part of Thai cooking. It is rather sill to let your dietary needs be dictated by the preferences that were set up by tribal ritual two thousand years ago. False gods? No god or gods are false if they are the object of worship in some culture.

Sooo...you're saying that if my "god" demands I kill people & eat them, it's okay? Maggiepie "Deep experience is never peaceful." ~ Henry James

Or, if my religion says it's fine to kill a woman who "let" herself be raped, to satisfy family "honor," that's fine too? Or, as in some religions, certain races are treated as dirt, non-human, & not allowed to join with the "chosen" race? I really want you to explain to me why you think all cultures & religions are equal. In my experience, they're not. Not at all. I got away from the one in which my family reared me, because I knew they were ignorant & hate-filled. If all faiths were equally good, why would anyone leave the crappy one they happened to be born into? Clearly all religions aren't the same--in fact, many directly contradict one another on key points, & sometimes people suffer because of it. I don't believe you've thought this matter through. It's fanaticism obeying religious laws blindly. For instance some religions don't eat blood because it is in the bible wherein they base their beliefs in like a Catholic who pray the rosary because it is in their Catechism.

Hello sono and welcome to myLot. The bible give a list of foods that not only the Jews are not to eat but every one. The reason is that there are health risks to eating these foods. The pigs have a trichina worm that is not killed no matter long it is cooked. In their natural habitat pigs are scavengers the same as vultures.

Yes, Christians eat pork because (either Jesus or his disciples said this I cannot remember) it is said that even the Jews cannot follow all the rules and let alone those are not brought up in Judaism. So it is agree that Christians can eat pork.

I don't eat it, but I really don't care if anyone does. I see no problem with it.

But for the reason you don't, why not share.? If it's for the welfare of your fellow man, don't you think you should let them know?

It's not a rule or anything; I just don't. I don't see this having anything to do with the welfare of my fellow man. Their diet is their own business.

Besides liking some dishes made with blood (and fried onions and spices) and liking my red meat on the raw side, I lick my wounds usually and I licked my daughter´s wounds when they were little prior to put the coveted bandaid. I suppose that is perfectly normal for some people and for others I´m a little short of being a vampire. I don´t make any kind of offerengs to any God or Gods whatsoever. Happy posting!

I do not eat or drink any animal products whatsoever. Because it is impossible to separate an animal's blood from its flesh completely, any who consume animal flesh (meat), are eating this blood. God laid out his ideal plan for all of mankind from the very beginning of Genesis & sent a great many prophets, Jesus included, to remind the people time & time again to turn from their sinful ways. "Verily I say unto you, for this end have I come into the world, that I may put away all blood offerings and the eating of the flesh of the beasts and the birds that are slain by men. In the beginning, God gave to all, the fruits of the trees, and the seeds, and the herbs, for food; but those who loved themselves more than God, or their fellows, corrupted their ways, and brought diseases into their bodies, and filled the earth with lust and violence. Not by shedding innocent blood, therefore, but by living a righteous life, shall ye find the peace of God. Ye call me the Christ of God and ye say well, for I am the Way, the Truth and the Life."

There are a great many Christian Bible Scholars over the centuries who would disagree with you on all accounts, Casandrina. Feel free to join or at least read both of my discussions on the issue: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2363107.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2365359.aspx Kirinx, fair enough, but I'm sure I have a youtube video of rashes of well-cooked bacon showing the parasites in the meat still alive & breeding after being cooked. I'll leave you to your research.

Because I'm Russian Orthodox, no, I don't eat blood. In fact, the very idea sickens me. Furthermore, I boycott Campbell's soups because they now have food dedicated to "Allah," the moon god--a false idol. I make my own soups nearly exclusively now, except for Lipton's & Knorr's. My soup is better than Campbell's anyway! The bible does say that if you eat such food not knowing it has been dedicated to idols, you aren't responsible, so you're not guilty. But once you know...
