My rating drops from 8 to 5 in a jiffy, I am surprised!

After i completed 100 posts i noticed i had a rating of 8 and when I hovered near the star i saw 75. I realized my reputation was 75% with the other mylotters here.
I continued to post, suddenly today I noticed it shows 55. I was surprised. I am unable to contact admin as my friendship request is pending for more than 2 weeks.
The irony is I have received 5 best response already so is it possible that i can lose my reputation overnight. Id like response from the other experienced my lotters here.

I'm sorry that your reputation fell like this.
Your reputation is in the hands of the other myLotters, you can't do anything about it but being active and trying respect the rules and be helpful to other users.
Unfortunately (or luckily?
), when you are a new user, the reputation can go up and down easily. Imagine that a drop of 20% (from 75% to 55%) could mean only 25 negative ratings for your hundred of posts. But it also means that your reputation could go up in the same manner.

I wouldn't make too many hopes about this, Moksha.
When I "upset" a plagiarist here, she (and probably some friends of her) rated me negatively so much that my reputation went down in only one day and also my ranking in my favorite interest fell from 3 to 10. I wrote to the admin about this and he said he can't do anything about this. I could not give you a better advice than the one he gave to me: "continue your normal activity and things should return to normal and your ranking should start to rise again".

The value of your star depends ENTIRELY on how others rate your posts.

In the same way that you saw a big drop today, if you stay in the right places you might see a big rise tomorrow. Your number is still low so it will not take many plusses to get it back up again

Your rating may bounce around quite a lot when you first get your star, especially if you suddenly make a lot of posts and there has been no time for them to be rated. Give it a few days and you should find that it will settle down.
Keep posting good quality content and you will, hopefully, be rated well and your reputation will recover.

I remember having the very same discussion when I was new in here. I was dumbfounded why all of a sudden I got down rated so much. Good thing is that by that time I was able to build a network of friends whom I enjoyed interacting with everyday and so my rating rose back up again. I suggest for you to stay out of the politics interest and religion because most of the time people get down rated there pretty easily. I don't know the reasons behind why people down rates other people but somehow I know that there just somewhat impossible people who loves doing stuff the wrong way

I do not see a pending friendship request from you. I do see though that a few users have already offered some words of advice and have explained that your rep will rise and fall from tine to time. However, in the future if you do need anything, send me a friend request and I'll do what ever I can to help you.

which admin did you try befriending? I am the only one that accepts friend requests here so if you tried to friend any of the others, it will sit there forever.

Friendship request to my lot contact us has been pending for 3 weeks now. I am surprised that admin is not available readily at hand but needs to be befriended first.
In the tabs below i don't see my lot admin so that i can contact straight away.I also do not see the mylot contact tab on the top, why may I ask? why is the 'contact' tab hiding at the bottom, I think it should be more visible at the top.
I need to contact my lot from time to time to look at admin. issues. But is there a need to send a friendship request to the mylot admin first?
I did try 'contact' and chose the star ratings option but immediately got the auto response assuring me that the rating is accurate.I realized I have just chosen an option and before i raised the issue related to the option i got an automated response, how strange? I do not want to post about this issue but I did not see help at hand so I decided to post about it and I may be wrong in doing so But I can't help feeling that mylot and mylot admin can be more proactive by being easily available without having to be befriended first, do you see my point?

So thats what it means, got ya now. I've never thought much of it until now. Now this is my goal to get a higher ranking. I too also got best response on two discussion topics just last month. My rating is still 5, hopefully the more active I am, the more I can better assist people on mylot. Hoepfully somebody soon would be interested in my opinion, if not well....
