New York had two diplomas when I was going to school. Your school diploma and a New York Certified by the board of Regents diploma. I graduated from my high school and got one from there. I also got one for higher level courses where I took and passed regents tests. Actually you could get a third one if you went half a day to BOCES which was our technical school. So you could get a tech high school diploma like for automechanic, carpentry, security, etc. Now everyone has to get a Regents diploma here if they can, if they can't, then they have to get a Special Ed diploma. They can also still get the tech school diploma.

I was kicked out at 18 but I did finish High school. Through the years since I have slowly but surly taken courses here there and everywhere. In the fall I had my credit worked out and I am in need of three different classes to obtain two different degrees. One in history the other in writing. All the courses I need are math and science, the ones you have to take no matter what you are going for. My plate is pretty full right now but I plan to finish getting them eventually.

I fortunately, finished high school (by the skins of my teeth, and only after attending summer school. I started college, then stupidly dropped out for a year, then decided to go back. In the middle of my first semester, I got pregnant with my son, a very complicated pregnancy that made me very ill and had no choice but to put college on hold. Right after I had my son, my step-son moved in which made it impossible to go back and it's been on the back burner for 12 years now. I do eventually want to go back, but now I have a 1 year old daughter, so it'll just have to wait a little longer. I suppose life would've been easier had I taken the "right" path, but I wouldn't trade my life for all the money in the world!

Most definitely! I'm hoping to attend Penn State Online when my daughter is a little bit older, right now I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. My life-long dream is to become a professional dog trainer and to educate children on the proper ways to care for their pet, and animal abuse and neglect. When my boys were younger I used to do a presentation at school every year about animal abuse and what children can do to help, the proper ways to approach and to treat animals, etc. It was loads of fun!

I have an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Religion. I have also got some Allied Health College level classes. I started back to school to get a degree in Ministry, a Bachelors, but life kept happening and I could not stick it out. I enjoy writing, and I also have a tendency toward social work and counseling. Pharmacy Tech would also interest me, but at this point I do not see myself finishing, even if I only had to go to class one day a week. I will admit, I have thought of it, though

I would like to take some literature and English classes. I think I would be a good editor. Have edited peoples stories and gotten professional feedback on it. I would do online courses. Have started some but never finished. Free on a site I was on.

Good for you! I went back in the 90's and got certified in electronics. I suppose life had a different plan for though because I later ended up being prepped for management instead of anything to do with my certification..lol. I am back now for a degree Business..Organizational Management with a minor in Human Resources...so far anyway..I have actually considered changing my major once or twice.

I graduated high school exactly a year ago. Now, I am in college. I am taking up computer science as my course. Sometimes, I think it's a very difficult course, but I managed to pull it off even after the problems that I had encountered. I am going to be second year this coming school year. Good for you, you managed to go back to study. Well, I wish you all the best in your studies celticeagle! Best of luck!

I am still studying in the university. I am doing computer sci and engineering and it is really tough course. People around the world say that there is lots of scope for computer science major. So I am hoping to get better job as a result of hard work that i am putting now. I some times fill like giving up. Lots of assignment, that too most of the times huge programming which will be more than 500 lines. I will be soon done with my third year and then i will be left with one more year as course is for four years. So by april or may 2012 I will be graduating.

Hello celticeagle, I am a second year student in a college of China, I am major at finacial management now...and almost all students have very tremendous pressure before the college entrance examination, which is one of the most important tests for students in our country, by contrast, it is more relax after just go to a college, however, most students face the employment pressure approach the graduation time, and I soon will finished my second year and go to third grade, I must have some good plan, study hard, for find a good job after graduation...well, and all the best with your work...

Hi celtic, There is a little difference in the education system of your country and ours. After standard 10 we leave school and join College and unless you go for some technical education or professional one we spend another five years at college and then go to University for post graduation. I finished my college and university as well in arts and humanity and specialization in my Master of Arts was English Literature and linguistics. People out here hardly leave school before completing matriculation and if possible graduation as they are yardstick for jobs and appointment in different field.
